2001 E320 RWD - Brilliant Silver/Ash: 100,000+
Question Vanity license plate(s)

Hello friends,

I am trying to come up with a vanity license plate for the Benz that will not have been already taken. We can have up to 8 characters and I thought of the following:

Daimler
Mercedes
Benz
Silber (german for silver)
Silver
Asche (german for ash)
Ash
E320
W210
E320W210
W210E320

Does anyone have any other good ideas, or votes on these?

Thanks,
Musikmann

Just don't go with Mercedes. That's a bit dopey.

There used to be a forum member by that name, and I used to think to myself "can't you be a littloe more creative?"

HA! Then there must be a dope with a MERCEDES license plate somewhere in West Virginia because they sent me my 3rd choice SILBER which is the german word for SILVER.

I asked for in this order: DAIMLER (taken apparently) MERCEDES (also taken apparently), SILBER, and E320. They only give you 4 choices per form, and you have to start over if none of your 4 are available; OR if our DMV deems any to be unsuitable for some reason (like profane).

Thanks,
M

LOL - here's the 1st telling you that YOU mis-spelled "from" - ha ha!

The plate I ordered for my Smoke Silver E430 was RAUCH - german for "smoke". I was a little afraid that the men behind bars (wearing the striped suits) would think I was wrong and me make one spelled RANCH or RAUNCH. Fortunately, they were paying attention

Regards,
M

Hi John,

That's nice, and I can relate to that - I was born in Boston and spent my 1st 6 years of life in that area. My father (R.I.P.) moved us here in 1957 due to a job he accepted.

Good thing you avoided a plate like "E320" or "BENZ". License plates which state the obvious always garner a mocking chuckle from me.

However, you'd look very smart if you spelled it out fanatic-style: year, chassis, model ie: 02W210S4 I'd do that if I didn't already have bigger plans for a vanity plate.

And can you really get 8 letter license plates? I've been looking for them nearly all my life and have only seen one. That one included more than one I; skinny letters allowing all 8 characters to fit.

I thought about W210E320 or E320W210, both being 8 characters, but I thought something with a dash would look better - 320-W210, E320-210... arghhh! In your above example, "S" is for wagon and "4" is 4-Matic, correct? What is the designation for the RWD I have please?

YES, in West virginia, they allow for 8 numbers/letters/symbols. As far as I know, they do not have to include any "I" or "1" either.

Have you guys seen the "*** RGY" vanity plate? It's in Florida, and between the 5 and the R, there's the orange making it look like "*** O RGY".

I forget the specific designation for a RWD sedan. It's out there somewhere.

Vanity Plates

How about AZZ KIKR works here in NC on a S500 and my BMW buddies hate it. On my other benz the plate reads LIVE4NOW. I wanted to be original....didn't want to use W anything or Benz anything.

I like both of those, especially LIVE4NOW. As to your BMW-owner friends, they are only jealous!

Agreed - I wish I had any AMG Next upgrade is probably an E55 - the year and mileage will depend on the price and my spare cash at the time
