SIRIUS, lifetime subscription available?
I have a portable SIRIUS device, and I had the option of paying $450-$500 for lifetime service.
Is this available on the SIRIUS installed in MBs?

I am sure that life time is available to any sirius device even MB vehicles. You only need to give them the device serial number. You can probably even transfer it from one device to the other. You would have to give them a call and de-active the old radio and give them the number for the new one.
The real question is what will happen to the life time plans now that Sirius and XM have merged? Will they honor the life time plan?
Now is a good time to read the fine print before you jump in.

I wasn't planning on transferring, but it would be something I'd pay for (whats another $500 on a $70k car?). Yes, fine print is urgent right now not to mention a written letter or fax stating the lifetime will stay post-merger (which will take many months if not a year or more to complete).
So I will ask the dealer if they can do the lifetime or activate it myself. Thanks!

The proposed merger is an iffy in the equation to which I have not received an answer when I contacted customer service.

I got the lifetime back after installing the factory set up in my car. It was a great deal, as you got 12 months free with the factory install. (even though I did the work myself, on my 04 coupe which MBUSA said was not possible - the car was pre wired!) So, in total it was about 350 for the lifetime! Not bad.

Sirius is awesome, especially for long roadtrips, I have my ipod for backup, but it is great to listen to one station while crossing two states.
I too bought a lifetime subscription, and it is a hell of a deal, I paid around $400 two years ago, it is not something they really promote, my buddy recently got a stiletto handheld receiver, and he had to ask 4 times to get the lifetime membership which he paid about $500 for, but it is still a bargain! If my cellphone company said you could pay $2000 for a lifetime subscription, i'd do it in a heartbeat.
