What's your opinion on the difference of dirving a cheap and expensive car?

The other day, I drove my mercedes to supermarket, the parking lot is outdoor. while I was driving down the gravelled road, I saw a couple walked in front of me, so I slow down and drove by them (I make sure I keep distance from them). After I pull my car in a parking space and walk out of my car, the wife came up to me and told me I was sriving too fast in a parking lot. At that point, I was kind of shocked, so I said "really!?????", and she replied " yeah." and immediately she walked away..... and I stood there for 4-5 seconds to think, and I still think I wasn't driving fast, I SLOW down when I saw them!! anyways, I didnot confront her.
The husband didnot said anything, and he didnot even stop, he was already walking to the supermarket while his wife was complaining.

DO you guys get this often? I do when I drove my mercedes, but not when I drove my cheap bit up HYUNDAI! I actually drive way faster on my hyundai, oftenly speeding, and no one seems to care. BUT when I drove a mercedes it's another story! I always drive slow when I drove my mercedes (well, maybe not ALWAYS), I am very caution with it. I oftenly gets that guesture and stare from pedestrian....

I remember when I drove over the rainbow bridge to US, the custom agent pull me over, I was waiting in the office while he checked my car. when he come back and asked" you own the BMW?" i said"yes, I own my car, but car is not a BMW, it's a mercedes"
And his response was" WAHAHAHA, mercedes!? BMW!? who cares! they're all the same!! hahahahahah" and laughing with the other agent. I thought that was really rude and uneducated, but I didnot said anything, I don't want to pissed them off, I just want go across the border. not mentioning he broken some pieces of my mecedes which I didnot find out in the next two weeks after that....

so what's your experience with your nice ride?
I also oftenly hear people says those reckless driver are the BMW and mercedes driver, heard it on radio, read it on forums... sigh

I was hit up twice several years ago when I was going to school in Phoenix. I was in my car and a guy came up to me asking for $20 so he could tow his car...
I told him I did not have any money, so he walked away. He never asked any of the three cars in front of me.

On lady trolling the parking lot of a supermarket was going up to some poeple when she saw me getting into my 190E and turned 180 degrees and asked me for money.

A student with a 15 year old Mercedes must have more money then the guy driving a brand new car

What's worse is Hillbilly-Bubba hate. Even though their F250 FX4 cost more than my car did especially with a 6K lift and tires etc...

Don't let it get to ya.

"cheap" and "expensive" are relative terms. My advice is next time go to a higher class area. Then your Mercedes (unless its a McLaren), will be the cheap car compared to the Bentleys and Rolls Royces u park next to, and no one will bother you.

Yes, NOT ALWAYS but often people that buy trucks are jackasses..... I know it's a generalized stereotype but oh well........

and they very well may think the same about people that buy MB/Bentley/etc
Given the choice to drive a huge truck daily or shoot myself in the foot I would GLADLY shoot myself in the foot.......
