Can you get a MB extended warranty if you buy a used Benz?
Hi, I hope someone can help me here. I am looking to buy a '05 SL65 at a great price, it has 1 month of factory warranty left on it. I talked to a few different dealers and they all told me different things.
Do you have to be the original owner to get a MB factory extended warranty? I wanted to get a 3-year 100k mile extension. The car in question only has 6,000 miles on it. Thanks!

Only the original owner can buy an extended warranty from MB. However you can purchase a third party service contract for your local MB dealership.
I've purchased several Easy Care service contracts from Atlanta Classic Cars in Duluth, GA. The price shouldn't be that bad since it still in factory with low miles.

1. The car is not grey-market.
2. The car has not been wrecked and have a salvage title.
3. Under 50K miles. (Of course you knew this!
)4. An inspection must be done. Hint: I waited until I had the B service and then got the warranty. I did not have to pay for an inspection because of that.
Talk to the SA/SM. BTW- I went to RBM of Atlanta.

careful when you look to buy a warranty. if the wheels and tires have been changed to a bigger size, it will void all warranties.

Not sure why you quoted me??? I never said anything at all about changing tire size. I just said that you can get a MB CPO warranty rather than going with the 3rd party warranty.

Good points to all, thanks for all of your help..I drove the car and it did not feel right. Also I had found out that the car had never had the oil changed in 4 years. When I asked the salesman about that he simply said due to the miles it didn't need it. I explained to him how he was wrong and he gave me that "oh, ok mr" kind of look.
Also...they were willing to give me a 2-year, 100k warranty for get this..$9,500. I said the hell with it.

I got my dealership to extend my warranty on a car I had bought elsewhere. I am the 2nd owner. I technically "sold" my car to the dealership and the "sold" it back to me with the extended warranty. Love my dealership

If MB discovers this not only will the warranty be voided but the dealer could lose his franchise. This is totally against all caveats set forth by MB re the Starmark warranty. In actuality this is fraud.
