I like the look and feel of Mercedes cars and all, but when I buy a car I don't really give a **** about it's heritage, I give a **** about whether the damn thing holds together or not. If you pay $120K for a car and peices of the interior start falling off, hertiage goes right out the window and the car goes right back to the dealer. So far, after the Chrysler merger and even a little before, Mercedes hasn't been living up to it's hertiage of so many years as well as Lexus has lived up to their short heritage of the key ingrediant: quality.

Thats OK. I dont mind a few trips to the dealer for minor **** that most people b!tch about constantly. 
The good outweigh the bad. All I know it that I am in a Stylish, Safe, Reliable(yes it is), comfortable car. Oh and the drive 
. If I didnt care I would still be driving my boring toyota camry.

From earlier posts, around various message boards, people tend to say they are happy with their "Pre - 1990 Benz".
The early 1990 MB decided to forget heritage and move to Shareholder interest.
I guess every generation has their gratefulness of buying their car when they did!

That's true, I'll concede to that. I just compare what I see and feel in the newer ones to mine as well as the older ones I've driven, and the parts don't feel nearley as sturdy. But I will also say that not everything in my car is comperable to the late 80's Benz's when they were at their peak. But I read the articles and browse through the repair shops and tend to see more newer models on the lifts ripped up than older ones or even mid 90's ones. At the Chevy house it's another story, you see a wide range of years in there being torn up. This is where I form my opinion.

just an opinion....i had an 00 E430 sport. my mother just picked up an 03 E500. my mothers new E is built much nicer and sturdy than mine was. truly a well executed machine.

...really? MB is way behind in Crossovers, which has the largest growth prospect according to Reuthers' article: 15%.
Porsche, Audi, VW, BMW, Infinity, Nissan and many more are capturing the crossover market before Jonny-Come- Lately - MB - will be making an appearance.
When? Does anybody know?? What will it look like??
Will it be made in ALABAMA?

Minor stuff? I usually let those go until the next major component goes bad in the next month. I've been hitting my dealer at least once a month these days. Gotta love MB. In fact, I'm loving it so much, I'll be putting my S430 up for sale soon. Time to head over to the competition
