Will Mercedes Bring New Pickup to the States?
After a warm reaction to the idea of a Mercedes-Benz pickup here in the U.S., Mercedes is reconsidering bringing the new truck to America.

Call me crazy but I can't see people lining up to buy a Japanese vehicle badged as a Mercedes.

With the large profit margins pickups enjoy in the US market, I think one of the luxury makers will venture into pickups in the US and if MB already has one in the works...they're probably the one. They already did the R Class minivan 
which doesn't fit with the MB demographics.
Here in the Southwest where pickups are king and frequently cost as much or more than many MB models, I think they will sell a few. Certainly more than they sold of the R class but probably not enough to maintain it here in the long term.
How many other countries out there have consumers lining up to buy luxury pickups that cost $40,000 - $60,000 that don't really NEED to use them for hauling stuff. The buyer they WON’T get is guy who has a 28ft Chapparral to haul to the lake or tows a classic car to shows on weekends. They won’t get the buyer who takes his truck offroad for hunting a few times a year.
