Did you buy new or used?

I've noticed that a lot of used car buyers on the BMW forum I frequent. I've also noticed some here, but I was wondering about the percentage. So, indulge me, if you will, in this poll. Do you buy your Mercedes new, used, or both?

Yeah, I used to think that way, too. I think by reading about it more online, however, my mind is slowly changing to consider the merits of buying either private party used or CPO/Starmarked from a dealer.

Used from MB dealership, low mileage, eligible for extended factory warrantee.

I would have a great deal of difficulty buying used from an individual or non MB dealership.

New, but I would consider pre-owned after I get rid of this, but only certified with a warranty, from a dealer.

Nothing
I bought a C230 Kompressor 1998 used. Last year I bought a C32 new. Both were bought from the same dealership. Both have their advantages. New: you know what you are getting has not been abused or been in an accident. Used: you don't lose as much when selling it later on.

Dad bought mine used with 44K on it in 2002 with extended factory and Starmark warranty to 100K/2005. It was an absolute steal and I've had few problems with it. For me, it's Used Certified every time. I can't justify taking the depreciation off the lot when I can get just as good of a car used with a warranty and let someone else take the depreciation.

Used only, plus if you look hard all the problems will have been rectified by previous owner/s.

MB S550 now; S63, CL600, S430 previously
I average around 35,000 miles a year. By buying used low mileage vehicles I avoid initial depreciation while also being able to rack up miles and still get a decent resale when it's time to say goodbye. Thus far, I've been very fortunate to have had great used vehicles.
