It looks like The Euro AMG Owners Club is going to start a United States chapter in 2002. I have sent e-mail to the persons responsible for the United States formation and am awaiting a response. How many AMG owners would be interested in a regional club like this ?

Absolutely!! I've been pursuing starting the same thing here in the US and have received A LOT of interest. However, if this is something that is in the works, I'd be ready to help get it off the ground. Keep us posted Adam.

AMG Club
Will do. I too have run the idea around in my mind about the possibility about a AMG Club. Over at C32life we have talked about it as well. There is a ton of interest here in the States and I think it would be a lot of fun, not to mention a great vehicle that we can use to have a 'in' at the AMG factory.

Count me in too Adam ...
I'll even throw-in some 'free' legal work (entity formation, Bylaws or Operating Agreement, etc.).

There will have to be a quid-pro-quo though:

In return, you So. California AMG'ers have to introduce me to some movie stars (not the 'bigs' ... maybe just someone like Don Knotts ... or maybe even Charo! (as a young-lad, I just loved thinking about gettin' a little "coochie-coochie"

sounds good to me.
An AMG club would be great...maybe get a little younger crowd than the MB club...even just a few more middle-aged folks like me would pull down the average age by years

I'm still awaiting word back from the Euro AMG Owners Club , however it appears that U.S. Charters will start in 2002. When I get more details I will be sure to let everyone know. If we don't get anymore details or we don't like them , we should think about starting our own. This would be a rather large undertaking and would require some upfront legal research. Drew, our resident lawyer has volunteered to help for some minor perks ..

It's very interesting to see a lot of us 55 owners in the L.A. / Orange County area.... We should really get together one day for a big group picture. All those AMG 55's in one place would be a sight to see, that is for sure.

Of course, it will be a sea of Brilliant Silver....

This would be a tremendous benefit to anyone with any AMG...where do I send my dues? ;-)

The greatest advantage would be the exchange of info I would think. As an example, I periodically ask if anyone has done any dyno work with an aftermarket exhaust. It appears that no one has. There are no shortages of aftermarket exhausts out there for us to choose from, but no objective data to support the manufacturers claim that it will increase HP. May a US AMG Club could help.

Hi,

I just found this older thread. Did anything become of a U.S. Chapter of this organization?

Good timing. I was just talking to the guys in the Euro chapter. They asked some questions that I need to get back to them on. Stay tuned.

The Euro guys asked, "Do you happen to know if anyone ever tried founding an AMG Owners Club in the US or what MBUSA's policy on Owners Clubs is in general?"

Anyone ever inquire about this ?

I haven't heard any serious organized effort on this to date.

Also, I'm not sure of any official MBUSA policy, but the Gullwing Group, the 190SL Club and the M-100 Group apparently don't have any "problems" with corporate. In fact, corporate goes to members of these groups for photo shoots, commercials, etc. Definitely a win-win!

Could we become a "sanctioned" branch of the euro club?

Dear AMG-friends,

Ronald (our webmaster and Forum-moderator) informed me bout your ongoing discussion about founding an AMG Owners Club US.

After more than one year of discussion with the AMG management, we have now received a final statement about the possible procedure of founding an AMG Owners Club US.

We discussed this topic within our board of directors for the last two weeks, and would like to offer our full support. In the past, we did the same with the AMG Owners Club Switzerland, Italy and Great Britain and created a very powerful cooperation.

Since we are only guests in this forum, we do not want to post all this extensive information here without the consent of the administrator(s) / moderator(s).

If you don't mind, we will post a full report tomorrow.

We firmly believe, that a great organisation of AMG-Owners worldwide could be created.

Best regards,

Toni

President of the
official AMG Owners Club
