GLB augmented Reality - how to activate?

Hi all,

I picked up my GLB 250 this afternoon and can’t figure out how to activate the augmented reality feature. The packages we got are innovation, amg line, vision. The handover specialist wasn’t sure how to do it but said it should come up when we enter a destination through the navigation which we have tried a few times. The navigation panel splits in two with the left one being a variation of the map in the right screen. I can’t find anywhere in the settings about augmented reality?? We have heads up display but can’t figure the AR out. Not sure what I’m doing wrong!

im really hoping it’s just some kind of user error (me!) and we haven’t been misled as it was the reason we chose this model over another cheaper one. If it’s relevant, this wasn’t pre ordered but purchased after it was en route to Australia. We had two cars to choose fromi - one with innovation (inc AR) and the other car didn’t have it but had the air conditioned seats.

Can anyone advise here??

In theory, you enter a destination, start following directions and when you get to a turn point, the camera will come on showing the view out the front of the car and some blue arrows will display showing you where to turn.

I don't think there is anything more to it than that.

HOWEVER. are you sure the car has that feature? Is it listed on the Window Sticker (Augmented Reality for Navigation)?

This feature was deleted from most cars because of the chip shortage. My brand new '22 E-Class Coupe had the feature deleted from my order and there is nothing I can do about it.

Glb
Hi
just had my Glb Premium delivered and no AR. Dealer tells me they stopped including from beginning of the year!!! Funny as when I test drove in August it was on board a brand new demonstrator and I am sure it was in brochure (June print I think).

Several models lost the AR....a victim of the chip shortage.

AR MISSING

Hi mine is missing too! Is Mercedes going to do something about it? Thanks

No. Mercedes is not going to do anything about it. They delete the feature from your build, HOPEFULLY don't charge you the $350 charge for the feature and call lit a day.

Your only choices are to accept the car as built or walk away.

I say hopefully because right up until closing they still had the charge for the AR in my price, although not on the sticker. I got it resolved at closing, but only because I noticed and pointed it out.

I bought my Glb from South West Mercedes (Exeter Uk), and also no AR, no pre-warning and no credit or retro-fit. Despite complaints they have made no retribution or even an apology. I contacted MB UK head office and although they were polite and understanding in their response, but they basically wiped their hands of it by saying it was up to the supplying dealership to sort out the problem. I have had 5 new Mercedes’ and was thoroughly appalled by this behaviour, they have taken money from me and failed to provide the car I ordered. I will never buy another Mercedes vehicle. If anyone is considering a class action, then I am in.

I feel like they should have done more to inform me of the features I requested being deleted. They only seemed concerned with informing me of the standard features that were deleted or delayed for retrofit. They left me to figure out for myself that the car didn't contain everything I ordered.

However, I did receive information in advance showing me that AR was not on the list of installed options and I had the opportunity to refuse the car. If they had deleted a feature I couldn't live without (like heated steering wheel) I WOULD have refused the car.

If your car is still within the first few hundred miles it wouldn't surprise me if they were willing to take it back. They can certainly sell it for probably more money than they were charging you. You just have to decide how important AR is to you in the grand scheme of life. Hell you could probably turn around and sell it at a huge profit yourself.

I have the AR and its really no big deal. After using it for a few months I actually turned it off as it got annoying. I would rather see a map, than a video of the intersection with an arrow. I see the actual intersection with my own eyes anyway, so why would I need an exact camera view of it with an arrow pointing to where I should go. But thats just me. Others will defintely prefer it.

spoke to manager and he said they might face class action , they most definitely will be getting class action as what they did is technically illegal in the USA. I don't know about UK but in America that's called a bait and switch and your entitled to the 350$ from dealership . I would go hold dealer show them that you where promised a feature you paid for and was not given. I thought Europe was in even better when it came to protection of consumers. Their will be a Class Action SuitI'm positive just keep your ears open
call customer service and ask for the executive manager . I was able get 2000$ of my car just for the headaches I went through. I got a generic letter that seems like if you ask b4 u buy you'll get 1, 2 or 5k off price depending on model. Now I don't know what if anything they can do after the fact but ya that's bull****. The worst part is you probably don't realize but you didn't just lose Augmented reality you actually got a ****tier headunit with less SOC(SYSTEM ON CHIP) its LESSER CPU etc. You also lose video playback functionality, so no watching movies when parked. And you'll lose full screen. Driver side Navigation. I've gone through it in great detail on CLA FORUMS if your interested look it up you'll find m3 batching everywhere as well as this is wrong . I get chip shortage but CUSTOMER ARE ENTITLED to know EXACTLY WHAT THEY re losing. In most cases even when people where told they would lose augmented reality they where only told that is only feature affected but that's a lie. Here's the difference between the Mbux548 vs mbux 549 or Reilly Px vs Parker 128. The reason they won't retrofit or lie say it's not possible is because they don't want replace headunit they want saddle us with ****tier hardware. I have more info if Interested just dm me.
