That thing may be on books for 75K or so and that is not that much damage.

Car is at a Mercedes-certified collision center. Progressive thinks repairable (to total they would need a repair bill of more than ~70k), but needs a teardown and estimate first. Manager at collision center thinks 40-60K.
Big hiccup. The pyro fuse tripped with airbag deployment, and the electronic systems can't be powered on. The collision center is going to drag the car into the garage to start with an estimate, but clearly can't know true extent of damage until electronic systems are online. MB says the part is not available and there is no estimate when it will be. Anybody with advice on how this could be escalated with MB? As much as I love the fuel efficiency, I'm getting a bit tired of driving my rental Hyundai
.
I recently endured a 6 month collision-insurance-body shop experience and fortunately had no parts problems, although I fully expected that parts would be an issue. Body shop labor availability was also a concern but no issues there either.
How did you select the body shop?
Pyro fuse blown with airbag deploy is normal and expected. No vehicle function when pyro fuse is blown is normal and expected.
W223 being a new platform is likely the issue for parts availability. Very low unit volume sold so far in the US market, compared to a 2012 Camry.
