Maintenance history
Hi, I am interested in buying an used 2003 C240 wagon (VIN WDBRH61J13F418903). I got the car's carfax history. I was wondering if anyone has access to the MBZ database to get its mtc history for me so I know the car is clean. Much appreciate it!

Your best bet would be to ask the current owner to get you a print out from where he has had the service done. Because of privacy laws, a lot of dealers will not provide you with that info (from a previous owner) even if you have already purchased the car.

Revstriker, thanks for the reply. The seller is a DC non-MBZ dealer who bought the car from an auction. Prev owner is idnetified as a Corp fleet. From a piece of paper I saw at the dealer, the car's original dealer may be Benzel-Busch at NJ.
I do not think the DC seller can give me the service history.
By looking at the lable on the car, it was manufactured in 03/03.
In the carfax, it seemed clean. Total 6 records:
9/15/03 NJ DMV registered as Corp Fleet Vehicle (Bing: My guess as the dealer's loaner car?)
9/17/03 18 mi vehicle serviced (I wonder Why?)
9/17/03 NJ DMV title issued, first owner reported
2/12/04 4,154 mi vehicle serviced (is this the A service you referred to?)
12/22/04 dealer inventory Alexandria, VA, vehicle offered for sale
12/23/04 dealer inventory Alexandria, VA, vehicle offered for sale
Very few record, I am not sure if it is good or bad.
Any thought? Thanks.
By the way, where can I purchase MBZ extended warranty? It seems DaimlerChrysler Corp offers it.

As few miles are on the car, it doesn't seem like it has had much time to have a bad history. It does seem odd to have a service history at all with less than 10,000 miles on it. My only concern would be that it may have had some issues to have had service done that early.

MBWorld Fanatic!
The first "service" was done at 18 miles....I bet this is just the prep service for delivery. One other done at 4K miles...could be anything including "customer mistake". With only 5K miles you shouldn't be worried. Have them throw in the extended 100K warranty to make the deal.
