Since you pointed out the inky black look as "surreal" I will now say I strove to get a "surrealistic effect" in that shot instead of not compensating for the backlighting...:-)
Thanks guys...if you watched the Love commercials for MB, the last shot is of a GL550 (woman standing next to it) and it had that inky black look STP mentioned.

The nav system on MB has really improved in the last few years. I was really disappointed in the resolution and hard-to-see colors of the nav system on my SL500.
