Does anyone know how much the 5 star spoke 20" rims cost?

I too was considering adding 20 inch rims, but decided to hold off when I saw the 19 inch stock rims. I may look into a set of 20 inch rims with summer tires for next year, when the snowy weather is over.

Your ride is sweet. I like the 19"s, but I love the 20"s more. A member of this board got the 20s that I want with his Premier Edition package last year. Check out the pic.

The MB website has the 2008 GL450 coming standard with the same 18" wheels from 2007.
The 19" wheel package (option 335) comes with the 19" wheels and the stainless skid plates and is still listed as a $1,520 option as it was last year. This option package seems to match the picture of your truck, the wheels and the skid plates. Are you sure your truck did not come through with option package 335, 19" wheel package?
Thanks,
Gordon

. Seriously, though, I couldn't be happier with the PE GL450. I personally prefer larger wheel and tire combinations, so this was one of the deciding factors for getting the PE. On my other Benz products, when considering changing wheels for larger ones, my dealer has told me that they don't normally keep the smaller standard wheels because they can't sell them. I would have to keep them and do whatever I could with them after the fact. For this reason, I just go with the stockers. I remember a few years ago, I bought AMG wheels for my CLK and the dealer installed them when they did the PDI, but I had to keep the standard 16 in wheels and they were stored in my garage for a couple of years, until a friend needed new wheels for his E class sedan. I just gave them to him to make room in my garage for other stuff.
Finally, this past summer, I took the truck in for a service about three weeks before leaving for vacation. Three days into the vacation, and only about a few hundred miles from the service, I noticed one of the back tires was worn down to the belts! I was shocked because the tires all had the proper inflation pressures and the truck had only 12000 miles on the odo. I had to go to the nearest Benz dealer in NJ, Benzel-Busch, and they ordered two new tires for the rear; a local tire place would have taken three days to get the tires. While waiting for the tires, I called my service writer in Miami, and he told the service manager of the predicament I was in. Later that day, I received a call from the manager, who told me to take pictures of the tires and upon my return to send him the bill and he would reimburse me for the trouble. I must say that I was impressed with both places. The people at Benzel-Busch were superb and my dealer stepped up to the plate. What could have been disastrous was discovered by accident and when I needed the help, it was available. That's what customer service should be.

Care to share some more pics of your beauty? I really like those wheels.

Now that I read things closer I see that a photo of your truck was linked below in a response to my post.

Would be interested in more photos of your 20inch wheels - I'm stilling considering going that route next spring.

. The one you posted above is too catalogish. I want pics of your ride. I"ll wait patiently.

. As they say, patience in a virtue.Sorry for the "catalogish" picture of the wheel, but I was satisfying a request. I'll post some new pics of my truck when I get a chance, and when the truck is "presentable." In the meantime, you might be better off looking at the extremely professional shots of the GL550 posted by NJ and others on this forum. They are the newest and shiniest, and they should keep you interested until I can do the same.
