That AMG badge is nice looking and I think looks better than the 4Matic badge. HUMMMM....:-) I have the AMG wheel stem caps and they look better than the gray plastic ones.
Personally, I'm from the former camp. I had a CLK430 with the AMG appearance package and I just couldn't make myself put the AMG badge on especially when I pressed the accelerator and my appearance package didn't make me go any faster.
Park Place sells the logo for $99 but I think any dealer would have them and probably a little cheaper. Do the 4Matic letters come off pretty easily with dental floss to cut through the adhesive from the tape holding them in place? I just may do it guys...what say you all?

Unless you add the AMG cross-drilled brakes (which I think should have happened given the amount of power), and a supergharger (or 63 motor) I would advise against adding an AMG label. Enjoy the vehicle for what it is, those in the know will realize it's an AMG fake while others will not care. If the 4-matic insignia bothers I recommend simply removing it.

Why??
I too am thinking of adding the AMG badge on my 550.
Why would I or anybody else with a 550 be a poser for adding this??
that Is why one of the reasons we paid a premium for the 550 which includes the AMG styling....wheels,spoilers,flares etc!! So how are we posing??If the 550 would not have the AMG styling then I would agree!!
I dont think we need to go out and have to buy brakes to not be considered posers! I just added the AMG valve caps and back plate frame!
So go ahead NJ and slam that badge on ,, I am..

I told ya - my neighbor 3 doors down has a base S550 - no options at all (NONE... literally leased the most UNLOADED S550 out there) and they stuck on the AMG badge. They have the standard wheels and everything!
I dont get it!
Why!?
Do they think that slapping that on their S550 somehow makes their car "special"?
Wowsers.
Ok - now, where the hell is my scotch!?
But most of the exterior styling
that differs the 550 from the 450 did!
So what is so wrong in complamenting the rest of the
AMG styling pack with A Badge?
Maybe MB should not include AMG styling on there cars
anymore unless they have the engine as well??
That too can be considered posing as well... IMO

Precisely.
