On Line Source For Mobil 1 ESP Formula M
None of the local stores has it.
The online source is http://avlube.com/mo1espfom5wc.html
As we all have talked about the GL320 seems to use oil as it breaks in. I got a "Check Oil Level at Next Fill Up" (? correct terminology) warning yesterday. I added 1/2 quart, but I'll bet it will need the other half. I have already added 1 quart in the past. So that's 1 1/2 quarts in 5,200 miles.
I had 2 quarts of the Mobil 1 ESP Formula M that I got from the dealer when I picked up the truck. Now I need more so I searched online.
Hope this helps.
I take our 2005 Honda Civic to Jiffy Lube for service. They charge over $50 for synthetic oil on top of their regular oil change charge. I buy the Mobil 1 at CostCo and bring it with me. I get a discount for bringing in my own oil, use my AAA discount and it costs me less than $20 (not counting the price of the oil) to have Jiffy Lube change the oil.

I actually decided to go a different route with the oil since I found a place right down the street from me which sells Elf Solaris LSX 5W30 which is MB229.51 approved. The CDI engine takes 9 quarts of oil.
Here is the spec on the Elf oil... just in case you can find that easier than the Mobil ESP oil.

Thanks for the tip.
I would like to take a try at changing my own oil also.
I am going to search for more oil that meets the MB spec. For right now I ordered 6 quarts from that online supplier.

My dealer has it by the quart also, but he is 40 minutes away. I wanted to find some locally but could not.
So I bought the minumum order of 6 quarts from AVL. I will use it, we have 2 CDI's in the family.

You are correct with the numbers.
However, I will let the dealer do the first service.
I just like to have some oil at home and I always keep 1 quart in the trucks (ML320 and GL320) to "top it off" if I get a warning message.
