Needless to say I am very excited and can't wait for the first Ohio snow LOL. I test drove her tonight and was pleasantly impressed on a few issues:
1) Love the power and pickup of this large vehicle in stock form! Needless to say I was very surprised as I daily a RT Stage 5 E55 AMG. I was also very impressed with how nimble and how well this SUV turns and corners

2) Very comfortable seats and love the room, fit and finish, and the view of the road from the drivers seat

3) Love the louvers on the hood (like the SL series cars), the look of the rear and the front end

I have a few things to do to get her how I like her:
1) Powder coat/ paint wheels, chrome accents and badges, and exhaust tips dark gun metal

2) Tint front windows

3) New Silver Star Ultra bulbs

Questions I have for the GL guru's"
1) Is there a lowering module for the air suspension like on my E55?

2) What performance mods available for this 4.5 V8?

3) What are the head light bulb and fog lamp part numbers?

Thanks, and here's a BlackBerry phone pic

Enjoy the new ride - you will love it. Many of us have also have added some cosmetic things like chrome covers for our window switches, chrome aerowing on the hood, etc.

What tires did you get on your 19" rims? ARe they still putting the Continentals on there?

You mentioned you can't wait for the first Ohio snow, which got me asking. I also have 19" RIMs and your choices for all season tires are the Contis or Michelin Diamatre. Neither are 'great' snow tires, but from my research it appears the Conti's are better so I am now on my second set.

19" tires

I just got my GL320 about two weeks ago with 19" wheels. Mine came with Pirelli Scorpian(?) tires. No reason to complain about them yet. They are quiet on the road. I'm in NNJ so we'll see how they handle the snow.

Thanks for the mod list! I think I am going to darken the existing chrome. I have noticed something peculiar when browsing the GL picture thread...some GL's have the surrounding molding of the fog lamps in chrome and some have it in flat black. Why the difference year or option. Mine are black...and I do like it on the black exterior but I am curious as to the difference.

On the tires, I got the Conti's and I will write a first snow review on these tires when we get the white stuff.

The difference is with the P2 package you get "cornering fog lights" and they come with chrome surrounds.

I saw a lowered GL450 on 22's a few days ago. I have to say that I really didnt care for the look. The car looks great with it's factory stance, maybe just add some larger wheels (but then it might take away from the ride quality).

Thats exactly why I want to just have my stock 19's painted dark gun metal and call it even!

C'mon Venom. You've got to be a pro at this considering your stable of toys.

If you spend a little time searching this forum, you'll surely find some ideas that may be of help.

Unfortunately, since we don't know where you live, or even what model GL you are considering, your question is impossible to answer.

Good Luck!
