You guessed it, DEAD BATTERY AGAIN!!!

I am awaiting a flatbed I already called and left a message with my regional MB rep. This is the 5th time in 7 months that I have had this happen. I have lost all faith in this car. I hate being stranded. Thank God there is no wild fire right now otherwise myself and 3 kids would be SOL. Thanks for letting me vent.

At this point just ask for a new car. I am sure a new GL450 2009 will be possible. Let us know how it goes.

BTW I think this is total BS on MBUSA's part. Time to bring down hell if they don't replace your car at no cost to you.

Sorry to hear about this, Mom. I agree with Fanatic and it's time for you to bring the hammer down.

We all feel for you. I know how mad I'd be if this stuff kept happening to me.

Keep us posted. The power of the forums here will force them to bend over backwards and make right of this situation. If you need anything PM me though. I will try my best to help as I am going to be in Miami/Houston these next few weeks.

Thanks MBFanatic! I am going to start with the Service Manager at Walter's today. I left a message for MBUSA yesterday and never heard back. I will call them today too. My SA agrees there is a serious problem, to bad he is so low on the totem pole to get anything done about it. I will let you know how it goes and get my advice from you all

Go for a new car for sure. I smell that dealer cannot find the real problem and just keep changing battery while something is draining your battery or making short.

It is very sad when dealer cannot find the problem and properly fix your car.

First deal with dealer and make him involve representative from the mbusa. it is his problem because he sold you the car and he was fixing it numerous times.

Lemon laws and lawyer would be next step plus newspapers and media.

I definately feel with you, safety is first and car cannot let you down with your kids inside.

Thank you! Unfortunately it is not a the dealer where I bought it. Road side tows to the closest MB dealership. This is the second time I have had it here, 3 times where I bought it. I got frustrated and wanted a new service department to look at it. Which dealership should I get involved? Both?

You should get both dealerships involved. I would definitely ask for a new vehicle. this is rediculous that you cannot rely on your car.

I could not agree more. I have both involved as of now.

I just got a call from my SA and they said that they had to order a new steering column module (?) from Germany. Ship time, 10 business days! They can not release the car until that is installed. They said it is a new TSB, so those of you that know how to research TSB can you verify this for me? Please

My brother had an early ML replaced by a new generation ML which was trouble free. He also had chronic electrical problems. It is not only Mercedes with electrical problems as my friends Honda Pilot Had to have almost every wiring harness and airbag sensors changed over a two month period.

PM me the folks you have dealt with so far and let me see if I can take a crack at them. Do you have the contact information for the regional rep who helped you last time? If they don't help, I have an attorney who you can contact if need be (last resort). Just mention that this problem is too great and you have lost all faith in MB and you cannot afford to have such problems when living so far away from a dealership or in a risky environment (mountains).

I just got a call from the SM at Walter's. He has his shop foreman on the task and is investigating it for me. Time will tell.

Sounds like MB Fanatic is willing to help a fellow forum friend (FFF?), thanks for doing that MB!

I like to give some subtle but blunt hints as to your expectations. I think it works much better than arguing.

Here's an example. Go to the dealership and bring your 2nd set of keys. Ask for the set they have from the service manager and then take your keychains and other keys off both sets of keys in front of them. Hand the two MB keys to him.

Your behavior will undoubtably cause them to look puzzled, and likely they'll say something to get you to say more. When they do, I'd leave them with the zinger. I'd say "I have made up my mind that I don't feel safe in that car anymore and I'm not ever driving it again. The only thing left is for the dealership and MBUSA to decide how they want to handle it", and give them your phone number and walk out.

Trust me, they will get the point with just that little bit of conversation. From there it will give the dealership time to come up with a solution and call you with their answer.

That's good. I think that would definitely get my point across. I am trying to be nice and keep my cool, we will see how far that gets me. I might just drive down the second key tomorrow

I would pay a million bucks to see the look on their faces when you hand them the second key and mention what Jim said.

haha dont think so Kaila. If I came I would leave a large trail of rubber in Caliber's parking lot just to **** them off a bit more if they didn't replace the vehicle. Im thinking CLS for that.
