RES MONITOR REPLACEMENT
I looked, and looked, and keep looking.
I need to replace one OEM monitor.
Any help? It can OEM or any other major brand.
MB dealer wants $2,000 to replace it, and I found several places where they offer two monitors for $600-700 on brands like Alpine or Sony.
Any ideas? Any DIY write up?
For $2,000 I can get me a new big screen plasma and Blue Ray player.

No way
For that price you can install after market headrests with new screens and the players are built into the headrests so that both screens play different movies and sources. Dump the factory screens and go after market they will be better.

The same dealer will very happily install an aftermarket RSE in your car and will swear that it will not impact the Active Head Restraint.

Beto--I just spoke with a guy in the parts department, and for some reason what your dealership was telling you is not incorrect. He said that for ONE replacement unit, if you have memory seats, is $2000+...seems ridiculous

I don't understand Mercedes, like they don't want to sell you a replacement screen.
I even contacted the supplier, Delphi/Grundig, in Germany and they don't want to sell me a single screen.
Does anybody know how to remove the screens? I'm sure I can fit a universal 7" screen or two if I can remove the OEM's.
Otherwise, I'll get the Vizualogic or similar equipment.
