Heat scavenger setting is cool! (warm)
I had never tried the climate control scavenger setting before today, and it works very well. I knew about it all along, but I had never tried it. Kinda weird to walk up to your GL and hear the heater fan blowing with it off and all locked up, but it is toasty, and the engine heat seems to be replaced very quickly. Very cool feature.

You turn the car off, and before you exit, you press the A/C button. The light comes on, and the heater motor runs, pulling residual heat from the heater core/engine for 30 minutes, or until the battery starts to get low.

Ha!
I use the same feature to keep the cool air circulating in the vehicle if I ever find myself waiting in the car on a warm day. If you've been running the air, and you press the button (I think it says "REST" just below the A/C on the button) it pulls the residual cool air in from the AC system.

Red light stays on, the feature stays on for the full cycle even after you have opened the door(s) and locked the car.

I had no idea we had this feature. I am going to try it! It works for both heat and cool? And it is just the rest button? Do you press it before or after you turn off the engine? TIA

I like the hidden single malt scotch dispenser too!
I've had a few moments when I read the label "A/C Rest" and the light is on (when driving) and I think I've turned off the A/C. Then I remember what the 'rest' part of the label is for and think I'm a dummy.

Actually the button is labeled "RESI' with an I. And, it stands for, come on, give it a try, it is easy......RESIDUAL. Go figure.
From the manual -
Switching the residual heat on/off
It is possible to make use of the residual heat of the engine to continue heating the stationary vehicle for up to 30 minutes after the engine has been switched off. The heating time depends on the set interior temperature.
The blower will run at a low speed regardless of the airflow setting.
If you activate the "residual heat" function at high temperatures, only the ventilation will be activated. The blower runs at medium speed.
Turn the key to position 0 in the ignition lock or remove it.
To switch on: press the button.
The indicator lamp in the button lights up.
To deactivate: press the button.
The indicator lamp in the button goes out.
The residual heat automatically switches off after around 30 minutes or if:

OK, this probably gonna be a forehead slapper, but I've never been able to figure out what "REST" stands for. Is this some German shorthand for something? Someone, please put me out of my misery.

Thanks Nish!
OK, I always thought it said "Rest" as well. When I have the heater on when driving the car, I press the "rest" button to shut off the a/c. Why should I run the a/c while using the heater? Yes, I know it helps with keeping the condensation levels steady in the car, but I don't live in a humid area.

Typo? Sure looks likes "REST" to me.
