22 inch rim alignment question

What have people done here who have bigger rims and tires with their alignment? I have 285/22 Falken tires that have not worn well. All 4 tires have excessive wear on the inside edge of the tire. I now have to replace the tires but am wondering what people do with their alignments. The dealership said they can't do an alignment with that big of a tire. Another local alignment shop said they could do it but said because of the way the suspension works it would probably automatically adjust to the factory settings. Is this true? I know if I change my settings it will make my snow tires wear uneven but I'd rather have that than my summer tires being out of whack. Any recommendations.

I run 305/35/22 with no known issues yet. I only have 1000 miles on them though. We will see.

Would putting a stock set of wheel/tires on the car and having it aligned, then replacing the larger wheels/tires work?

Post a picture of your wheels. What is the offset and width?

Here you go, I don't know the exact offset but they are made for the GL. They are Brabus Monoblock S wheels.

I called a respectable alignment shop and they told me that due to the air suspension you can't change the alignment. They said if they did change the alignment it would go back to stock because of the air suspension. They said you do the alignment based on ride height not the size of the tires on the GL. Does anyone know for sure if this is true?

Dunno

I'm riding 305/40 22 on Brabus Monoblock VI 22x10 ET65, it looks really good, but spacers (from brabus) are required to clear a bolt, I believe on the wishbone..

Thanks!

it looks really nice, and not to bling bling. | get a lot of positive feedback on them, the only drawback is, that they are quite heavy i feel the impact on performance and the fuel consumption. | will post some pictures when I get it washed.

Now there's something I didn't bother to consider when it came to wheels. If you could've found something lighter and just as strong, would you have gone with that instead to avoid the performance and economy hits? And is the truck more stable at speed because of the heavier wheels? Like not drifting as much due to wind or road camber because of increased gyroscopic effect?

Just curious!

To be honest I expected the Brabus wheels to be lighter, especially with the price tag in mind (MRRP in europe: apprx: $2200 per wheels ex tires)
Had I known this, I might have opted for the Carlsson Utra ligths, but I prefer the design of the Brabus wheels.
I feel the weight when I'm braking and at acceleration it's mostly noticeable above 100mph and quite noticeable above 120 mph.
I m very happy with the bigger tires, a real plus, fills out the wheelarches but the speedo is a bit off, giving lower speed than my garmin and tomtom gps. I managed to do 148mph on the speedo.

It's hard to compare with the previous set up, which was 20" M.O.E because the tires were to small (275/45 20 Vredestein Wintrac 4 extreme) it was the only winter setup that I could get with short notice. And before that I had the Michellin Diamaris, they were good for the first 10.000 miles, and then noisy and unstable
