10,000 mile service
I'm traveling so the wife took our 550 in for the first 10K service a couple of days ago. We had a few issues that needed to be taken care of, so she made an appointment and took in a list with five things we wanted MB to look at:
1) Squeaking pulley (TSB issue)
2) Squeaking passenger seat (TSB issue)
3) Sunroof closing - sometimes when you use the one-touch to close the sunroof, the roof will almost slide to the fully closed position then stop and go back to about halfway open - like it senses it is closing on a hand or something
4) Rattling luggage cover
5) 3rd Gen iPod charger
Here's where it gets a little strange, at least to me. She pulls into the service dept and the advisor comes out with the Enterprise guy and gets her in a C-class loaner (basically free - she had to pay $1 on the credit card which I'm thinking is only for liability insurance purposes). The advisor then takes the list and the 550 key and she's on her way. She returns later in the day, pulls up, and the advisor comes out with the key to the 550 which is sitting there waiting to be picked up. He gives her the key, takes the loaner keys, helps move the kids seats back to our 550, then she's on her way again.
No paperwork, no payments, no nothing. And everything except the iPod charger (apparently the service departments do not have the MB OEM charging solution yet) and the sunroof (still having the same issue on occasion) is fixed. Basically $1 for the 10K service, the loaner and all the fixes.
I previously owned an Audi Q7, and free service was part of the deal. But I was expecting to pay for service with MB, and definitely get some kind of documentation that the work had been done.
Anyone else experience this? I'm not complaining (and we love the car), but I just thought it to be a little unusual.

You should get a Service Order detailing what issues you reported and what (if anything) was done to fix it.
And, yes, like Kent said check you card to see if they charged you.

Are you sure that the service was done at all? Has the oil been changed and car's computer re-set?

Computer has been reset. Pulley no longer squeaks. Passenger seat no longer squeaks. Luggage cover no longer rattles. Seems to me like the work was done. I'll have a look at the oil filter when I get back home to see if it looks new.
