As always, I filled it up w/ B5 soy last night, this morning when I started the truck, check engine light was on.... this has happened on my VW Passat 2.0T many time in past 3 yrs..but this is a M-B
i thought it was supposed to do better than a VW...
I checked the oil level, it seemed to be normal. Could it be the typical German engineering thing?![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Anyway, will call dealer up on Monday to get it checked (along with 2 recalls.)

... you know that due to variations and lack of quality control for biodiesel manufacturing- it is not recommended nor supported- right?
i would not tell them that you have filled your truck with b5... unless you want a new high-pressure fuel pump, injectors and prolly tank installed on your dime and your warranty voided...
just a thought...

Up to B5 IS approved for your car by Mercedes. In some places (Portland Oregon for example) ONLY B5 can be sold! As long as the fuel is from a reputable diesel supplier it shouldn't cause a problem. My guess is the CEL is from something else. See your dealer on Monday. It will be covered by the warranty but is still a PITA

Your system will tell them if the error code is due to bad fuel, which the dealer automatically turns in to a need to flush the system and re-try with clean fuel to see if anything else is affected. Personally, I'd like to know how reliable that particular system is but I'd be willing to bet it's pretty sensitive - like overly so.

in a diesel motor _everything_ is fuel-related ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
i would never put b5 in my diesel cars just because the b5 is a very aggressive cleaner and if you have not been running it on a regular basis and you have deposits.. and once you "rinse" with b5... junk will clog the fuel filter, the injectors... etc...

Looks like they didn't do anything but check for loose/corroded connections and cleared the code. Hope it doesn't recur.
