I bought a used GL450 and it has some Motorola thing that almost looks like a phone. What is it exactly? Is this something so I can do handsfree and have it come out of hte speakers?

It's likely phone related, either a bluetooth puck or a phone cradle. Likely clicks onto a connector in top part of center console cubby. Attached photo is suggestion

It is the bluetooth thing in the picture to the right. So how does it work? Do I plug my phone into it or what?

No, just enable bluetooth on your phone, press and hold the star sign button on the bluetooth box and then your phone should pop up with connection question on the screen. Allow it and use MBUSA (62872) as a password. After that the phone is connected to the TEL system in the GL.
