Tunnel Mode?
In the two previous Mercedes I had, the climate control system included a "tunnel mode" - which was activated when the recirculation button on the center console was pressed and held, closing the moonroof and windows. And when exiting a tunnel, pressing and holding the recirculation returned the moonroof and windows to previous positions.
This is a pretty useful feature around here in metro NY when traveling in and out of Manhattan using tunnels like the Lincoln or Midtown.
This feature seems to be missing in the GL, is this correct?

Dude, another cool "feature" I didn't know about? Last one was what the "REST" button does. Why don't the salespeople know this crap? Ugh!
PS I need to check this out now!

I didn't know about that feature either! Thanks
If it doesn't work on your car, perhaps the dealer can 'activate' it using the M-B computer system. You'll have to find someone at the dealer who 1) knows what you are talking about 2) Is willing to spend the time figuring it out.

If the feature is present, you'll only need to hold the button for about 3 seconds to activate the tunnel mode. Wonder if the feature remains on the other classes?
Yes, the ability to open/close the windows with the remote remains, which is great on warm days before putting the kids in.

I agree, but the range stinks on this feature. You have to be like 2 feet away from the car. My previous vehicle (Infiniti FX) you could be 20 or 30 feet away, so when I would be walking to the car in the parking lot I could get the windows rolled down and give it plenty of time to cool while I was talking towards it.

In the 2007 manual, it's called "Air recirculation mode with convenience closing and opening feature."
Looking in manual for "tunnel mode" won't find anything.
The whole statment isn't in index either--just "air recirculation mode."
2 second push.

that too - especially since you can just hold down the button on the door handle to achieve the same result (at least for closing everything...I think it works for opening as well).
