GL 550 OFF ROAD PACKAGE and 2010 facelift...
Hello guys,
I have few questions:
Does anyone know if any GL550 in US came with OFF-road packages ???
Does 3.70 axles means that this car has off-road package ???
Anyone know what part does I need to buy to do a facelift 08 GL550 2010 ??? Parts number and costs would be nice...
I also heard that there is some kind of re-programming needs to be done ???

fyi, the door mirrors were enlarged since the 08s and I believe LEDs were added for 2010...both easy modifications...reprogramming is news to me as the engine and 7G transmission were carried over...

He's probably referring to "reprogramming" for LED taillights.
You'll know there's the offroad package when you see controls like this--lots easier than determining axle ratios.

where do you get your information? you are wrong about the off road package...
I just spec'd out a 2011 GL550 ...
the package has always been there...
Enhanced Off-Road Package (special order) $2300
includes:
430 : Off-Road Package
481 : Front & Rear Underbody Skid Plates
In fact, my salesman (Michael Sepone @ Manhattan MB), found 8 2010 cars with that option in the system today (albeit, most of them are out west..but they are there)...
Maybe you should be a little more accurate with your statements or review earlier posts about the subject.
about the 21 inch wheels....... well we all know that they are a "summer only" proposition anyway... so anyone who is wanting the off road package would probably want to order different wheels and tires anyway.

Both cyclrder and lkchris are correct... there is a 0ff-road package.. and the easiyest way of to see if you have it is the extra control panel under the a/c control.. But basiclly it is just extra hieght.. It maxes out at +50mm over stock and it has locking diff and t-case..

Well, I'm an owner. Vehicle needs to be shipped. Pre-purchase inspector reports that diff lock and 2 speed transfer case are working as intended. I'll try to remember to update when it arrives.

It arrived tonight and is as advertised...a special order option code 430 2010 GL550 with Low Range and locking center and rear differentials. She's a big, full-figured girl!

On the EORP for the 450, that is correct. I would not know if all of that functionality was retained on a special order 550 Expanded Off Road Package.

Thanks. I'm fortunate to have found it in California and to have bought it from the original family of owners. I looked for an off-road package equipped GL550 without salt exposure for a looong time. I'd have loved to owned it from new but am grateful to have not paid anywhere near its 2010 price. The depreciation curve of these vehicles is shocking.
