Got a PGA turn in 2010 GL450
So after having a Black 2008 GL450 for 38K perfect trouble free miles...I got the chance to pick up a PGA iron hat turn in Silver 2010 GL450 and 3K miles for similar money. I think that the front and rear are welcomed updates. The rear seams to look more modern with the exhaust and skid guard and the led tail lights. I also like the side mirror update. The interior is very similar, but the nav is a little bit better and the steering wheel does have the paddle shifters like on my old PDK turbo...which is kind of weird on a SUV such as the GL, but I guess better than the buttons on the 08. I also like the darker wood trim vs. my 08's cherry like color wood. All in all, I love these trucks and the utility they provide for my family. Oh my 08 didnt have the factory running boards and I really like the way they look on the new one! Here are some BBerry pics.

I guess this is a clear example of the fact that not all dealers are created equal.
I know this doesn't help you in any way, but I just felt like ranting and complimenting MB Manhattan. Thanks Louis!

It amazes me that these questions that pertain to operating lights (or similar) are being asked. Not because the the one asking is at fault, but more that the dealer should have walked you through this on delivery. I remember when I picked mine up, my dealer walked me through what seemed like every possible option and how to operate it. This was inclusive of the different lighting choices and settings. ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)

MBUSA (or some other car company) will loan cars to either the Professional Golfers Association or Ladies Professional Golf Association when they have a major or at least fairly large tournament. They are used by the golfers during that tournament as transportation from the hotel to the tournament, as well as any minor side trips they may want to take (or their families or traveling buddies take). Usually a model of the car is offered as some sort of prize during the tournament (a hole-in-one car or longest-drive, something like that). Then they advertise the heck out of the fact that they are the "official" car of such-and-such tournament. The cars rarely get a thousand miles on them, but they're not usually titled so when they are returned to the dealership they are sold as PGA or LPGA "turn-in" cars - not quite new, but not quite used. You can get a break on a car, though usually not as much as one that can be classified as totally used.
For a while, a pro golfer lived next door to me and we were buddies. He went to a tournament in New Orleans and since his wife and kids couldn't go he asked if I wanted to come along. We drove around in this huge Buick the four days we were there. The only thing you could notice about the car was the magnetic stickers on the doors, big suckers that had the tournament's logo and PGA and all that on there. Otherwise, it wasn't any kind of special edition. I don't know if any of the other car companies create special editions of their cars for the tournaments, but I doubt it. Possibly they'd have cars with an odd collection of options you wouldn't necessarily get together ordering the car straight from the dealership - or, as in the case of my truck, only a couple of options.
I hope that clears it up a little? It's basically a car that was used as an advertising tool during a golf tournament. Who gets them and which companies do it when and so forth, I'm not sure, but I get the impression that whoever is doing it just provides some number of cars to the tournament and they decide how to divvy them up.
