Question: HID Fog Light conflict with Parktronics

Dear all,

Can someone tell me what's happening to my parktronics?

I recently installed MTEC HID kit for the H11 fog lights. Every time the HID fog lights are turned on the parktronics will stop working and display 2 red lights (Front & Back) too...

The MTEC HID is an error free kit, but don't understand how the converted HID fog lights will cause the Parktronic to freak out like this....

Do I need to recode the comp? Any suggestions?? Thanks!!!!

They reflectors are designed to provide low power flood pattern light. They do blind even when they are stock. Running hids in a flood reflector results in a bright dispersed light that you don't have to be directly in front to be blinded.

In Europe if you drive with fogs on without a fog you will get fined.

I'm running HID in my fogs but they are in projector lenses. HID's in the stock fogs will blind oncoming motorists as alx said.

They might beat you up, too.

To the OP, sounds like a frequency interference issue.

It is some sort of eletrical disruption. I had this same problem as well with one brand of HID kit, but switched to a different brand and had no trouble since.

I went and looked up who I bought from.

the Xenith xenons brand were the one I had trouble with

HIDextra gave me no trouble in the main location or in the fogs.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the HID system, but in such close proximity to the parking sensors it would cause the same errors that you are having.
