GL chrome roof rails
I saw these on a GL this weekend. Does anyone know if these are the standard dealer issue for chrome roof rails? Anyone know a part number?
The ones I've seen aftermarket seem to stick up too high. I liked how flush these were.

They are the same cross bars I bought from the dealer parts counter.

The roof rails run front to back.
The crossbars run between the two roof rails.
eBay is always a possibility, although risky and there could be missing parts.
These crossbars are made for Mercedes by Thule. They are larger (wider) than most accessories that clamp to crossbars can accommodate. They must be mounted on the roof rails at positions specified by Mercedes.
These crossbars have slots in them and are designed to accommodate components that mount into those slots. This is called the T-track system. (You remove the rubber stips covering the slot.) Unless you're willing to order racks, boxes, etc., from the UK (for English) you'll need to source these at your Mercedes dealer, as Thule mostly doesn't sell these in the USA. It is possible to find a retrofit kit to convert a Thule box from clamp mounting to crossbar slot mounting. See t-track adapters at the link. It's easy to order from the UK and I've had no problems. BMW and Porsche also use the T-track system for their accessories.
