Will 2012 GL350 Bluetec have more power like the 2012 ML350 Bluetec?
MB has announced the 2012 ML and the horsepower and torque for the Bluetec engine have gone up -- HP went from 210 to 240.
I will be looking at the GL350 Bluetec in September when my current SUV lease expires, so I want to find out if the 2012 GL will get the same diesel engine update as the ML, so I can decide if I want a 2011 or 2012.
Does anyone know when MB will release the specs on the 2012 GLs? And when will they first 2012s get to the dealers?
Also, has MB resolved the parts shortages that were caused by the Japan earthquake/tsunami? The salesman said that parts for the radio/nav system came from Japan and were in short supply back in May.
Thanks,
-Ilya

What are the fuel economy stats? Is gas milage better or worse? Did they revise the rear end gearing for better fuel economy?

The 320/350 i specially tuned down for the EU and even more for the US due to the the emission regulations. As it is heavier then ML I would expect it to still be powered down from the ML. You could get the, Brabus D6 adds extra 50hp and 100nm of torque, it takes 30 min to install and reduces the fuel consumption. It also does not affect your factory warranty. Best investment ever. I paid 1600euro for it with installation. I don't know about the US but the price should be close.

I actually have a US car -late '08 320CDI. It doesn't use ad blue, still the guys told me that Brabus has only one kit for the 320, cause it is all the same engine tuned differently for the different models.
For the upgraded engine which now they sell as 350, at least in Europe they even have the "S" version of the D6 which makes it 313hp 690nm... which is a big deal when the stock is 210hp...
