When I had less than 300 miles on my GL I had something fly up in the air on I-405 in So. Cal and land on my roof leaving a few good dents. Never found out what it was but suspected it was a big slab of rubber tire off a semi. The piece of whatever it was just missed the rear sunroof. Anyway, I spent $300 on a paintless dent removal guy and was quite pleased. He dropped the headliner and did a great job. Most people would not have even noticed the dents on the roof but I had it removed nonetheless. For something like you have it should probably less than what I paid. The dings looks like someone just doesn't want you to have a nice vehicle.

Thanks mp0i. Which place did you take it to? Would you recommend them? I want professionals and am looking also into having someone come to my house to remove the dents.

I actually had them come to my work and do it there, it is a mobile service. I would recommend them as the technician was very professional and knew what he was doing. Their website is http://www.dentsnomore.com. The website is very informative and should be able to answer any of your questions. I would use them again if I had to.

I've used the paintless dent guys a couple of times. Usually it ran less than $100, and you couldn't see any residual deformities.

for those who have done pdr, did they have to remove the sound proofing inside the car? if so, did they put it back?

My guy dropped the headliner and worked on the underside of the roof. I would expect that if any sound insulation material is removed that it would be put back. They have to be able to work on the metal directly to manipulate out the dent. You should probably give one of them a call and ask them directly.

Paintless Dent Removal
I think you should stick with that. That sucks when people hit your car and leave. I highly recommend Dent King in Boca Raton. Speak to Kevin..

FYI. I had a CLS500, someone was constantly dinging the doors. Haters. I always used dent wizards. They do PDR work. I ended up getting the guys cell number and paid him under the table (much cheaper) though the entire thing isn't very expensive. He's pulled out dents the size of quarters, and vertical creases the length of a dollar bill. Perfectly. You could never tell there was a dent. I do believe there is an art to it, so not all guys are as good as others. However, they never had to pull any panels off the car. The most they did was slide some piece in my window seal in front of the glass down in the door to help push out the dent I guess. The rest is done with a suction looking device and a lot of banging/tapping with what looks like a fine point hammer. Sounds scary but man does it work wonders. Check out Dent Wizards, they're a franchise so they should have people all over the US.

Unfortunately, I'm finding that the foil thick sheet metal on my GL is a magnet for dents. My E class is twice as old and has twice the miles with no dings whatsoever. It is treated exactly the same as the GL.

Park in the north 40 and walk to your destination. I've been doing that for years and I never get dings.

I do exactly the same thing but the dents and dings that my GL have are not from car doors, they're from life. Just getting in and out of the truck have resulted in the door jambs having dents and creases. Lightweight road debris dents the thin sheet metal. And I am directly comparing it to my E-Class which is treated the same way.

160k miles on my VW Jetta and no dents from using this method. It totally p's off my wife when we go out together but I was raised to detest dents.
