Post My new 22" Lexani CVX-55 deep concave and few other mods.

Hey guys, new wheels were mounted and the beast was slightly lowered using Star dianostic at an indy shop. Got her all cleaned up and was finally able to snap some pics. Sorry about the delay .

Lexani CVX-55 machined face with stainless lips. 22" x 10.5 all around with 45 offsets. Tires are Yoko Advan S/T 305/40/22.

Hey hubert, no my GL did not come with the running board lights. I got the LED kit from Jerry at formymercedes.com and had them installed at a local shop. Cost me a fortune but well worth every penny. The lights turn heads everywhere I go after dusk.

Did you order a set as well?

Looks really great. All you need now are the fender flares!

One other thing I'd love to see is blacked out chrome in the headlights like the "grand edition".

Yes I agree with you. Tinted headlights like above would look great. That's definitely on my next to-do list. Thanks pal.

I wasn't suggesting tinting. I was suggesting taking the headlight housings apart, painting the chrome, and putting it back together. not for the faint hearted haha.

There is a problem its a special paint done at Mercedes, if you just paint it they won't work as well as standard.

How so? How does painting surrounding chrome impact performance of the headlight?

Turned out great! Next up you should paint the silver (not chrome) area of the front grille black.

It doesn't. There is no special paint. Probably the color is special. But nothing else.

Looks awesome! Did you get a picture down the side to show how the offset & width fit in relation to the fenders? I realize you are putting on flares but this would be GREAT info for the archives.

Your truck looks great. Congrats...

Have you noticed a lot of difference in ride quality between stock RFT and your new tires ? Please share ....

Nah, it pretty much a non-issue with the projectors that Mercedes uses (can't recall Bosch or Valeo??). They don't rely on any reflectors for additional lighting output. It's all strictly done with the projectors.

Now even if we were talking about a hybrid setup such as those in the Lexus LS which uses projectors but also have a small reflector bowl at the bottom for additional width and foreground lighting, it's still a non-issue to paint the rest of the headlights since its a small separate reflector bowl it uses, and not the entire headlight unit.

Sorry my bad about the headlight....Hey I'd love to see a close-up pic
of the Grand Edition headlight assembly with the black-out chrome parts. Thanks bro.

Thanks! Fender flares cost as much as the wheels themselves , actually more with painting and installation. But sooner or later I just might pull the trigger as they improve the stance so much more.

Thanks for the nice words. I'm pretty happy with the result.

Thanks bro. I went to check out that silver part earlier and you're right...too much chrome and silver in the grille. It just might look much better with some black in there.

Thanks pal. Yes I took a couple of pics to show positions of wheels against stock fenders. I'll post pics soon.

Appreciate the kind words. I never rode on the stock RFT as I replaced the RFTs with winters before I took the beast home. For sure the ride on 22's are a lot harsher than 20s. I had 22" replicas before going with the current setup and now with the truck lowered, the ride is even a little more harsh. However, I can live with it as a compromise for the improved looks (IMO of course).
