Fair Price for 09 GL450 w/ 40K miles?
Hi, I've seen a fair amount of discussion in the threads below about the resale prices for pre-owned GL's, so I wanted to ask you guys what you thought about the price of the vehicle I'm considering. It's a 2009 GL450 w/ 40K miles, Premium 2 package, lots of options (not sure what else beyond Premium 2). Certified Pre-Owned as well. The original asking price was around $48K. After a bit of negotiation, it's now just under $47K. I tried to push more on the price, thinking that wasn't much of a discount, especially for a vehicle with 40K miles. The salesman said that was all he could do because the dealership purposefully prices their vehicles low to start to sell them quickly. He did increase the offer for my trade (2010 GLK350 4Matic), but I am pretty surprised that he won't seem to budge any more on the price for the GL450. Is it reasonable to expect more of a discount? Thanks for any insights.
I'd really like to find a pre-owned GL350 with similar (or less) mileage for a comparable price, but that seems to be a non-starter.

It would have to be quite a bit lower.
Plus, I need to trade the GLK. Not really interested in trying to sell it on my own.
You can e-mail me at gprophet21@hotmail.com Thanks.

The price of 2009 GL, which you wanna buy depends on a trade in value of GLK they offered you. If you'd buy without trade in - $47K for CPO car with 40K is not a bad price. I just checked Manheim....it sells for $42K-43K with similar mileage. Manheim report is not providing info about options of a car, so P2 I guess adds another $1K. Usually CPO process cost about $3K-$4K...so the price is about right.
