GL 2007 CDI service bulletin

Anyone know of a list of open technical service bulletins for a 2007 GL 320 CDI? I'm coming up to a "B" service and want to know what else I'll need to ask for that won't be done. The "B" service is a $499 oil change which nearly tips the scale of not owning a Mercedes. I know it involves checking this and that which results in a minimum service cost of $1200-$1500.

Open Bulletins? You sure you're not confusing bulletins for recalls? They are completely different.

If you're looking for "free" work they will do while your vehicle is there, recalls are what you're looking for, not bulletins. Don't bring them a stack of printed out bulletins you want them to do because you'll be paying for all of them lol.

My GL is still under warranty. If there is an open technical service bulletin describing a condition that I complain about, it gets fixed, no cost. These vehicles have many unsolved problems and Mercedes doesn't want you to know, and doesn't want to fix anything if not required. I had a door lock defect where a door and the rear hatch would not lock at times, and a fuel pump failure at the wrong time.

That's if you're having that problem. Of course they don't want to fix anything if not required. You're trying to cheat the warranty and this is partly why it makes getting stuff covered under warranty so difficult in the first place. Now, i'm not saying you don't deserve anything on your vehicle, that is infact broken or not working properly, to be fixed under warranty.

IDK, I just feel that getting something fixed while not broken, will surely break once you get out of warranty. But again, it's your vehicle. Just present them with all the problems you are having and i'm sure they'll take care of you. Assuming you have a good dealer to go to

Service b on the diesel is Dynamic and varies- it includes mandatory engine oil/ filter, but can also include fuel filter, air filters and cabin filter or any combination the above without triggering service c. Go figure. If it requires air filters It also requires resetting air filter adaptations via sds. $500 is actually cheap if this is what you are Offered to pay.

Look up the maintenance list in your owner's manual. Items to be replaced comes either by time or mileage whichever comes first. B is usually the 20K service which requires a fuel filter service in addition to an oil change.

depending on each individual vehicle operating circumstances the computer often requires items that are not on the paper schedule and vice versa. given the amount of sensors in our trucks/cars i would trust the computer to know better what needs changing.

in the cdi there is a sensor in the fuel filter, behind of the air filters, behind the cabin filters and the oil life is calculated by a counting specific events + mileage + elapsed time

there is also a specific reset procedure (done only via sds) when replacing air filters.

you will need sds to reset air filter adaptations on the cdi. the gasoline engines dont have it, but the cdi does.

I just got service done with oil change, air and cabin filter change but no fuel filter so the adaptations should be reset. I said no to the fuel filter because I want to DIY and learn my way around the truck.

Want to find the list of all service bulletins, recalls, etc.?

Go here and pay $18: http://www.startekinfo.com

An added bonus is that for this you additionally have access to all published regular service procedures, so you can download them and have a complete manual for $18. You only get 24 hours to do it, of course.

Wiring diagrams are there, too, but good luck with that.

You wouldn't be confusing TSB with recall, would you?
