2012 GL 350 Bluetec Nightmare!!

We purchased a brand new gl 350 thinking no more car problems for a while, wrong! A few days after picking up my truck we noticed the transmission was shifting hard and even banging into gear. Took it in for the same issue 4 times total. My lift gate motor already went, water leaked into the car from the inside and when taking my foot off the gas instead of it slowing down it jumps forward. Anyone else experiencing trans issues with their 350? The dealership told me that because it was a brand new car it needed to "get used to" my driving, whatever that means, 5 months later its still doing the same thing. They are refusing to put me in a new vehicle and I'm very close to lemon lawing my car. If anyone else can give me some insight on their gl bluetec PLEASE post.

Agreed...never once experienced any of that in 50k miles. Yours definitely has something funky going on, and I'd guess your dealer tech hasnt found the real problem yet. I'd contact MBusa and see if they can be of any help

Agree with previous posts. My GL350 is mostly trouble free from the day I got it.

No problems with my 2011 GL350 after 22K miles. Unfortunately, yours is a LEMON - I'd sue...

Lemon law it now. Our '08 has essentially been bulletproof.

this is not a typical ownership experience to say the least.

Read up on your state's lemon law requirements (you don't say where you are located). Follow those requirements exactly. For example, some states require that three unsuccessful visits to a dealer to fix a particular issue on the car are required before it can be 'Lemoned". Others have different requirements. Follow those requirements, fill out any necessary paperwork your state requires including letters notifying the dealer. Bring the car back and ask for your money back.

I'm sure you are probably heartbroken, but it does seem like you have an abnormal issue.

There are a couple of people on this forum (MomBenz and TamZ) who have lemoned their GL over the years. You might try PMing them for advice as well. MomBenz is still driving GLs, TamZ when to the Infinity. I'd suggest reading those threads as a learning process.

Keep working with your dealer, make sure they know you feel this is a serious issue you don't intend to overlook, take excellent records and notes on each interaction, and look at the laws of your state.

Good luck and rely on your friends here on the forum.
