Arnott airsprings
Hi all,
I got a pair of arnott rear air springs, part # A-2596. The arrived correctly, the problem is that one looks about 2" longer than another...they said once installed and inflated will be the same, is that true??

Thanks for the picture. While not how they are normally shipped they are perfectly fine. The bottoms can be easily pulled out (and pushed back in). This is the normal 'play' in the rubber air bladder. Simply grabbing them by the bottom could have done this during packing or unpacking.

At what mileage are these being replaced? I am currently at 70,000 miles... is this something that I should plan to replace on all 4 corners in the near future? I have not symptoms or problems yet (knocking on wood). Are there trucks out there with higher mileage that have not required replacements?

A rough estimate is 80k-120k miles before you will have air suspension issues. It all depends on location (colder climates go faster); driving conditions such as rough roads, road debris and off road driving; and what you are using your truck for (towing or heavy loads). Cleaner air springs tend to last longer since you are keeping road salt and grime off them. But with that said, one could go much sooner or later than the others but if one goes we suggest you replace them in pairs and regularly check them. One symptom of a failing air spring is when your air compressor runs more than usual or if you come out in the morning and one corner is lower than the rest.

My air springs started going out around 60,000 miles and by 150,000 they have all been replaced. Mine went out in the following order driver side left front, left rear, right front, right rear. Two replacements were Arnotts and two were MB. It will be interesting to see if the Arnotts last longer.

under 7 years, and less than 40k miles for me here in Az. Front driver's side went out about a year ago (replaced w/ MB OEM at the stealership), the rear passenger's a few weeks ago (replaced both with Arnott)
