front end sitting low after changing both front struts

front end sitting low after changing both front struts
I have a 2008 GL550. The front was making noise and ride was not great so I decided to change both front struts.

I have both front struts replaced 2 days ago with remanufactured struts. Today I noticed that front end is sitting low. Passenger side has about an inch gap but driver side seems very low. Any ideas? Job was done by an indy.

Anything other than a faulty strut?

not really. the airmatic should autolevel / recover after shock replacement. if it is not holding height overnight you have a shock or valveblock leak. valveblock leaks are rare.


btw, one bad shock will bring down the whole front or back down. however, the offending one will be yet lower.

Make sure the seated the air lines are seated properly

When I opened the driver door. Front end came up in few seconds.

Spray some soapy water where lines enter into top of airshock to check for that.

Took it to mechanic. He diagnosed the strut bag leaking. New strut on the way.

Replaced the strut with new one. Not leaking anymore
