another GL
I'm actively looking for a GL450 to get, in addition to 320 we already have. Something that needs work done to it. Must have light color interior. Black or white exterior color preferred. Smoke free is a must.
So if you are looking to get rid of your GL450 because you don't feel like spending more money fixing it or whatever. Or if you know someone or some place where I can find one, let me know.
If you think that this is not a good idea, you can try to talk me out of this
If this is incorrect forum section to post this, I apologize.

I'm still looking....
oil leaking from or around valve cover on a 450. Little under 200k mileage. Should I be concerned and stay away? Or is this something that happens to some of them and should be easy (easy for me) to fix?

Mine was leaking around the oil filter but not from the valve covers. Shouldn't be too big of an issue. They all usually suffer from the same ills. Make sure that oil didn't leak down and degrade the steering rack mounts. If so, budget for the replacement of the mounts and to fix the leak.
At 200k+, mine runs and drives like it was new. Love this truck. Thought my 210 E55 was holding up well and it does but not like the GL.

Purchased my 2007 when it was two months old and have driven it ever since but I don't want to take that hit in depreciation again- ouch! I guess it doesn't matter that much if you drive the wheels off your GL and get many years of enjoyment.

I've been watching used GL market for a few months and sellers just keep on reducing their prices. I understand that they want a lot, because it is a Mercedes, but the reality is different. People just don't buy them as much as other popular Japanese brands.
