Advice on 2010 GL450 4Matic 46k miles
Happy holidays!
Cons: generally lower than average reliability. Parts are about twice as expensive as the vehicles I listed above. Repairs and maintenance can get quite expensive unless you DIY. Insurance and fuel cost will be higher than those above as well. I found the technology to be below average for 2010 vehicles.
Very common problem areas are power steering rack leaks, a/c compressor going out, leaking air bags.

P.S. I was fortunate enough to go Hawaii a few times several years ago. Incredible place to visit! Miss getting those malasadas for breakfast, haha

The 2012 has the elusive rear climate control and vents. Possibly the hid lighting package which I’m a firm believer in, wooden steering wheel and black mbtex (nice!) and the important tow hitch!
the 2010 has none of these options, has the double halogen fog lights instea of led drl and for sure has halogen projector headlights.
but it has rear seat dvd!
my recommendation is go for the 2012 and try to negotiate at least 3-4K off just because of the options if it has the lighting package.
Retrofitting a hitch will be expensive for the 2010 but doable as is installing hid bulbs
it really depends how strict your budget is and what you can negotiate.
You will have to replace all 4 suspension air bags and compressor at some point though.

So overall judgement seems to be leaning towards to 2012 and trying to negotiate off the asking price.
Thanks for all of your input - much appreciated. Happy holidays!
