Welcome most of the time you have to remove codes with a scanner. Some codes can only be erased by a dealer scanner. If you do not have a scanner go to auto zone and they will scan for code and you have to touch scanner to erase code. They cannot erase it but you can

Some CEL's will reset after a certain number (3, most often) of key on - key off cycles. I don't know if the EGR one will. Otherwise, as mentioned, see a local parts store's code reader will do it. Assuming, of course, that the EGR was the issue to begin with. CEL's get us into the right area, but they don't always tell us what exactly is wrong.

Or disconnect battery and see if it reappears.
