2010 Gl 450 beeping
Test drove 2010 gl 450 today and it beeped couple times without any obvious reason,is it almost dead battery or something else?
no warnings on the dash at all just random beeping
106k miles, dealer wants 12k plus all the fees

it may just need a new battery or it could be random power interruptions because of water flooding in the areas where the battery bus bars and sensitive electronics live. Electrical weirdery in these cars is rarely good.

In my case, I have narrowed it down to an intermittent faulty front sensor with a visible dimple. The other sensors are dimple free. Only seems to happen in wet weather (for now).
Or it could be something else (and more expensive).

Obviously we're only guessing on this, but the Parktronic system sounds like the most logical thing. A quick scan with the proper scanner would probably tell what's happening. It could be a simple, inexpensive fix... could be more. Other than that, $12K sounds like a very good deal if it's up to snuff.

very nice car, felt really solid and healthy.
salesman turned off the P button while we were driving but it kept beeping,in unlocked fine, started without a key, opened and closed tailgate no problem.

Car sounded and felt really healthy, engine start button works without a key, tailgate opens and closes no prob, windows and sunroof open and close no problem.
Even if its a battery its no big deal, has new intake manifold and front struts and front tires what i could see in the carfax

If it's not Parktronic, then I would ask the dealer to figure this out and tell you what is causing the beeping. If they don't or can't (w/ or w/o the help of an MB or independent shop which should be on their dime, IMHO), I would walk away. At 12K, I am not sure they would be willing to go through the trouble. This car looks like a pre-facelift, so are you sure it's a 2010? Or did the 450s get the facelift later? My 550 is 2010 and has the DRL LEDs. On this one the fogs/DRL are halogen. They are located on the front bumper.
Beeping in complex cars is a concern if they can't tell you what's causing this and you can confirm that it is true.

Mine would beep when the brake sensor made connection because the pads needed to be replaced.

when a GL beeps it is usually accompanied by a message in the dash
if no accompanying message then there’s electrical gremlins afoot. Recommend having them or you take it to an MB dealer for a Prepurchase Inspection. They should be able to pull codes and tell you if there has been repeated instances of battery voltage dropping below 12v, which is what a water induced electrical problem often manifests itself like - random shut offs and beeps.
plenty of other non gremlinous GLs out there, why don’t you look at those?

Salesman called me and he said he is gonna take care of that beep, they have mb dealer next door within their company, lets see if he solves it,really like the car,the only thing it needs a good paint correction and ceramic coat to look perfect.
