Where is Fuel pump on 2012 GL350 Bluetec

Where is Fuel pump on 2012 GL350 Bluetec

Good Afternoon all,

I have been having a challenging time to locate the fuel pump. I have already checked under the 2nd set of row sets on the passenger and driver side and it is not located there. So where is the fuel pump. Please do not tell me it is under the 3rd set of row seat. I need help please Determined it is the fuel pump issues. It shuddered and then the car stopped while i was driving. I checked all fuses and relay and they are all good. Opened fuel filter and high pressure pump and common rail no no diesel present. No code on the car either. Need help desperately in Brampton location.

How do you verify a relay is good?

mine stalled once and the fix was a new fuel pump relay. They are somewhat prone to failure.

I interchanged it with another working one that i had and I cannot hear the fuel pump prime like before. And there is current going to the fuse as well. I can hear the Relay clicking

It’s under the 2nd row of seats passenger side . You can pull up the carpet and you will see a big circular piece of rubber stuck to the metal body where an access hatch should be . Unfortunately you have to drop the tank to change the pump . Kinda a pain in the *** .
I have a 2012 gl350 blutec and fought a random no start for a month .

I have checked under the passenger side 2nd row seating i peeled back the rubber circle and all i see is the sheet metal no access point. The same thing on the seating 2nd row on the driver side as well, no access point to fuel pump. Can you please send me picture and steps taken to change the fuel pump and how did you drop the gas tank. I need information on now to do this job please. I want to try to remove the tank somehow this long weekend.

I’m going from memory but basically remove the rear driveshaft and heat shields then unbolt the tank while it’s being supported with a jack . Then lower it down enough to disconnect fuel lines and electrical connection . There is a special tool for removing the nut that holds the pump in place . Also pull the fuse to your air ride before you put it on jacks.

You need to pry those round sheet metal piece up. The pump, at least, on the 450 is on the drivers side. You can do a search on youtube for a DIY.

on my 2012 gl350 Diesel there aren’t any round sheet metal pieces . I’m aware of what you’re talking about . I’ve had those on all my other Mercedes’s , but there isn’t a round piece to pry up . I had the mechanic at Mercedes test for high amp draw and they originally quoted me 1,200 . But they called me back the next morning to say that it would be 2,500 because there isn’t a hatch and they would need to drop the tank . So I drove it home and did it myself since I had the time
