How to cancel Countdown Mode
So its no way to reset this countdown with ICarsoft??
Or MacTool Scanner, Snap On?
"My car, GL350-11 Bluetec was in an accident, ripped out my airbags in the rear and some more cosmetics under the belly
Got sent to Lindon Bodyshop in Utah, and got send to Mercedes in Draper UT, to get codes or somethings done
Later, Mercedes in Draper tells me that the car does not start up= Needs a $900 start module, ok well, I pay for that to get it done, but I never had issues, except two times, where I just pulled the key out and turned it around and "where we go".. Anyway, paid for that parts and hope that I get the car back soon BUT now I got told that somehow they "fried" my computer, but they stand for the cost of a new one, ok good. Aaand Lindon contacted me now here 3.5 month later, " My car is done, BUT now it has just 5 startups left!!?? What? So they/Lindon sent it back to MB Draper, to cancel the codes.. ok good.. well..
Now I gets a Service Quote from MB Draper that states: It is $837 to get the car out of countdown mode and to replace a sensor, and to fill in some DEF"
So I am still waiting for my car, and very soon 4 months has passed
I don't know if it is just my feeling, but it feels like they trying to suck out every penny they can from me? I know it is not much $ yet for owning a Mercedes, but....
So at the end, my question is this: Can I use my iCarsoft to erase the Countdown mode? I have a STAR scanner back in Sweden, whereof why I asking about the iCarsoft, or maybe SnapON or MacTools scanner
And plus, shouldn't the Bluetecs in USA are subject to Approved Emission Modifications, what is followed by warranty on all emission-related components?
And what about the Class Action Lawsuit?
Please let me know Your inputs
Thank You

Where do I buy a decent DAS scanner? With decent i mean cheap!
And too, is there any "special" model of the DAS i need? Had been good if it work on all my futures Benzes
Sorry for asking you, but you seems to have a good knowledge

I bought mine from a user on this forum; @shardul
BenzNinja also offers this setup but with remote in capability.
You'll get a clone of a Mercedes Benz C3 MB Star / DAS / Xentry system that includes the Workshop Information System (WIS) and parts listings (often obsolete by publishing time).

I'm in the market for a Star/Xentry/DAS clone since I've extended my 164 ownership period by adding a ML550 to the garage. Do you have any recommendations for good tutorials/FAQs/how-tos? I see references for them all over the place, but details are scarce. I'm not even exactly sure what you get. I see ebay ads with a box, a bunch of cables and some include a laptop. Do they all require a dedicated laptop to function? Thanks for any help, I'd like to get more diagnostic capability than I currently have with my icarsoft.

Check the post right below this one. Benzninja is very active and could answer any question you have. Not promoting him since I don't have his products, but I may be a future customer. If I still had my SL or CL, I would, for sure, own the system.

If you're good with computers, you can go to ******* to download the software and install it yourself (I did this). If you're not as good but still willing to do some troubleshooting if necessary, you can buy the package with hard drive and just pop the hard drive into a spare laptop. If you don't want to bother with that, you can buy the package with a laptop set up (I don't recommend this) or pay for someone like BenzNinja to remote into your laptop and set it up for you.
Edit: well, that got censored. PM me for the site I suppose.

Maybe it is the website with ship robbers bay in its name, peer to peer sharing and downloads.

OP, I highly recommend getting a full kit, as from someone like Benzninja, if you value your time on Earth. These things can consume inordinate amounts of time debugging. But the choice is yours.

Follow up: I'm very pleased with the Benzninja setup. Got a C4 from a recommended vendor in China in about 2 weeks, the laptop is up and running with all the MB software that he installs remotely, and he took care of the two things I needed done (add keyless go to a new key and turn on the function that allows you to adjust the clock from the steering wheel controls once you replace the Command unit with an aftermarket headunit) and suggested adding a couple of things I didn't know about. One piece of advice is that it is worth the extra money for a Lenovo X230t (tablet) over the regular 230 to use with the MB software because it is easier to use a touchscreen folded over on the keyboard in a car than a regular laptop.
