Hey I got the new wiring harness . It is almost done setting it up but there is a wire going in the arm rest compartment I can't figure out how to access it to unplug and plug new one seems like the light for the underarm rest compartment how did you do it ?!
Hi. I am facing the same issue. How did you unconnect that wire in armrest?
I know its a hold thread, but was wondering if any one can elaborate on this?? what harness is needed and where does it plug in to if heated cup holder is retrofitted.

Getting the center console out is the easy part. There are a total of 6 screws that need to be removed (2 larger aluminum looking screws by the dash under the rubber cover where you can throw your keys, 2 larger aluminum looking screws in the center armrest under the rubber matting at the bottom of the cubbie hole, and 2 smaller screws in that cubbie hole that hold down the panel that has the USB and iPod connectors. Lift the iPod connector panel slightly until you can move it with the attached wires. Turn it until you can slide it through the hole. At this point you can easily lift the console to expose the 2 connections that need to be unplugged (large main connection & a smaller one with blue connector. Then you can easily remove it toward the back seat and take it out of the truck. It goes back in the same way it came out in reverse order. Taking it out and re-installing takes about 10 minutes each.
By far the most difficult part of the job is fitting the new wiring harness that contains the needed plug for the heated/cooled cup holder. It doesn't look to bad at first glance, but there are 2 wires that go through a hole toward the rear climate control and optional DVD player that cannot be accessed without removing the rear cover to get to the climate control and optional DVD player. Do not try to pry that back cover off as there are at least 6 screws holding it in place (2 by the 12 V power port, and 4 more that you can barely see when you lower the DVD player or empty binnacle. After all 6 screws are removed, you can unclip it from the top and pull the panel back where you will see the wiring harness holding the climate control panel on. After you unclip that wire, it should come out freely. (If you have a DVD player, then you also have to unclip that wire) Then you should see a couple of screws (IIRC) holding on a cover to the vent that air appears to flow through. You will need to remove those screws to remove the panel (it has foam) to be able to get the old wire harness out and the new one in. Connect the wires then reinstall the back cover in reverse order. It helps greatly to have a 2nd set of hands for that job as you'll need somebody to hold a flashlight to see the screws that need to be reinstalled. Torx screw drivers that have strong magnetism are very helpful in doing all of the reinstall. Otherwise you will need to tape the screws onto the screwdriver to get them started since you won't be able to get your fingers near those screws and those are very tight spots. The rest of the wire harness install is fairly straight forward. It's best to take some pictures of the old installed harness before removing it so that you can see how the new one installs and where to clip everything. The easiest part of the job is removing the old cup holder and installing the new one. That job can be done in 2 minutes. And don't forget to reinstall the Keyless Go antenna to the new harness. There is actually a wire on the new harness that is taped off that is used to plug that in (I think it is a brown & white wire with a black connector....but it is exactly the same as the one that is on the old harness that connected to the antenna. Untape that wire to free it up.
After all of the wires are connected, you can easily reinstall the center console into the truck and enjoy your new heated/cooled cup holders.

Main question is since the new setup is 2 diff sizes for the cups can it still accommodate say 2 32oz cups from McDonald’s?
I realized when looking to buy ours they were each a diff size and figured they couldn’t each hold the same size cup so it dropped of the list if needed options. Yes, two 32 oz cups from McD will fit. On the smaller side, the smaller, lower portion of the cup fits perfectly. On the larger side, then entire cup will drop down in the holder. I find these new cup holder more useful than the originals as drinks aren't moving around in them causing a possible spillage.

thanks for the help, will add this to my list of items. Now to locate a piano black rollback set. Looks like missed a set on eBay a bit back.
Got mine too from eBay $111 shipped. Friend who works at the factory is sourcing me the needed harness from the factory. Total cost should be $111 plus some beer when he pulls it out and swaps it out pit stop style. When I text him I ordered the cup holders and needed his help he was like man i just got done pulling a console out!!

My buddy just came by and installed mine. Will post up a few pics in the next few days. Installed pretty easy and didn’t use the mentioned wire harness as he works at the factory and had the wire diagram and was able to pin my existing harness. I have the wire diagram to post. Oh and a pic of the crazy expansive tool they use on harnesses.
