19 inch - Pirelli all season tire now available?
My 2013 GL450 came with the 19 inch wheels and the dreaded / horrible (for snow) Contis. There was initially no real alternatives for an "all season" M+S tire in the 275/55R19 size.
I don't need dedicated snow tires as I'm in Bay Area and just need something to get me up to the Sierras and back.
Anyway, thought I'd check tire rack again and see they now have Pirelli Scorpion Zero in the correct 19 inch size for the all season.
Does anyone have experience with these with respect to their performance in snow - I thought they may have been MB OEM on the 21 or 20 inch wheels?

Anyone had experience with either (particularly in the snow)?
Also, does anyone know how to locate the Nokians - seems like a hard tire to find.
I think I'm going to go with the Nitto Motivos in 275/55R19.
I wanted to do the Nokians but at the end of the day the drop to 255/55 concerned me too much.
I have now bit the bullet on a set of Toyo Versado CUV in the 275/55R19. I found a few positive reviews on them and they seem to have reported decent snow performance for an all season. They are also reported to be fairly quiet. We will see how they go!
If I had been in the market for dedicated snow tires - I definitely would have gone with the Nokian Hakka R2s.
If the size match was a little bit better (and load rating) - I wish I could have gone with the Nokian WRG3 all seasons. They seem to be exactly what I was looking for but not quite the right size.
P.S. - And at $860 shipped from Tread Depot I was happy with the price point of the Toyos.

How did these tires end up doing in the snow?
Going up a decent grade in front of the condo over a dirt road in about 6 inches of snow was actually just fine.
Anyhow, nothing really to add here other than I agree that the Contris don't seem great in snowy conditions. But, I would also like to add a question for any recommendations on snow chains? Even with better tires for snow I think my cardiologist would have preferred I had chains on due to very slippery conditions, steep grade, curves and very limited guardrail protection in some areas. Any input on good chains deeply appreciated.
