Hi all!!! New to Mercedes here. Bought a 2015 GL450 CPO with 20k miles that looks like new. Wife drove several X5 in the last 10 years but we needed a car with a real 3rd row seat and so far she is very happy with the GL. Coming from BMW and currently driving a Porsche myself I feel the lights on the Mercedes need an update. The car came with HID headlights but I am replacing the bulbs with Philips X-Treme Vision 500k bulbs. Now for the interior lights the old yellow halogens bulbs need to go. Thus, I was wondering if any of you have a list of all the bulbs that I would need to upgrade the interior from halogen to LED. I know some are 194 bulbs but not sure if any other types are needed once I start to take them out. Tks for the help!!!!

Interior should be all 194 wedge bulbs according to our specs. Let me know if you need pure white 5000k LEDs. We. Have high end canbus units so no power trickle issues prevalent with interior LEDs without.Originally Posted by Santastico

My understanding is that some of the bulbs are Festoon Dome Bulbs like of the foot area under the seats. I just don't know the size of those.

My Mercedes specs say footwell lights are 194 wedge. Cross referenced with Philips and Sylvania vehicle specs as well. Now that's not to say those specs are correct, but 99% of the time they are. We've only ever found one discrepancy.Originally Posted by Santastico

Tks, I will check it out. Do you know if the 2015 with HID headlights come with LED on the rear lights?

Hi Santastico, since you have GL450, I have question for you, sorry it's not related to the thread though. I own 2015 GL450 and recently I started hearing the turbo noise from the driver side. I took it to the dealer and he replaced the turbo to the exhaust (under warranty), but still it's giving out some amount of annoying sound although little less than before. I talked to the dealers mechanic and his answer was that this is normal in all GL starting from 2015 since they replaced v8 with v6 biturbo. But honestly the noise is very irritating. Now do you or have you experienced any kind of turbo noise in your car? would appreciate the answer.

ExploreThe GL is my wife's car so I don't get to drive it that much. However, I never noticed any noise coming from the turbo or any other noise. To be honest, the car is too quiet for my taste.
I drive a Porsche Macan as my daily driver and I miss the roar on the Mercedes.
