Help me Choose one of the 2 GL350s
4JGDF2EE2DA180593
4JGDF2EE8DA201219
I'm particularly looking for Xenons - 3 zone Climate control - Driver Asst - Park Assist and anything else I can grab lol
Please understand - on a 2013 GL350 - the MB Certified Warranty counts big time - and CPO warranty goes out 5yrs from original in-service date with 1st owner
Let me make this short and to the point on your two "candidates" which one shows originally from TX and the 2nd originally from NJ.
1) A180593 - if Mercedes Certified to Jan 26 2018 - at the right market price - BUY IT !
2) A201219 -if this is NOT a CPO then - and there are some very/very solid reasons why it "should not" be - or if it is MB Certified - I would be leery of that particular MB dealer on this car.
IF THIS THIS A201219 IS NOT MB CERTIFIED - then from what I see in the record on that GL350 - RUN AWAY !
That said, do your homework and make a lowball offer if it's the vehicle you want. I have a 2015 GL 350 and love it. However, as I said above the resale/trade value has tanked in the past year.

The 1st did have a MB dealer used car mechanical inspection - so I "guess" the selling dealer had it brought to MB dealer for that inspection - so the selling dealer "should" have details from that mechanical inspection - and so you know MB dealer used car inspections like that can be "harsher than needed" or can be "spot on". You can ask that dealer if they have the detail from that MB dealer inspection.
On the 2nd - from the records - that one is troubled - lot's of "goodies" - but very troubled mechanIcal background - and if it see's a MB dealer again it's flagged.
MB Certified for those qualified under 75K - gives you guarentee no unseen/unreported frame damage - and gives you MB Certified warranty to 5yrs from original purchase/in-service date. That MB warranty - Unlimited No Cap on Mileage can be later extended up to additional 2yrs at added cost.
Non Certified in 50K-75K mile range for market/low - that's a hole you would rather fill at that 50K-765K mileage with a CPO for a "bit" more - lower risk factor worth it.
2013's over 75K miles - which can't be Certified with those miles - one with good pedigree would be mid-$30's - right rig can be a lot of SUV for the money.
I was at the dealer the other day and had them run the second VIN and she was shocked - It had major things happen to it, like "engine lockup" - Timing chain stretched & what not...
The first VIN is not certifed either...
I found CPO at mb dealer for 44 with 60k miles - nothing in 30s

Not sure about anyone else, but when one is spending upwards of $40-$50k on a used car, it is just a matter of peace of mind to buy it from a dealer with a certified preowned warranty. It is was just $5k more than your asking price, it makes sense to buy it from the dealer. Unlimited miles and 1 additional year of warranty in addition to them going through the certification process makes sense to buy from the dealer. Also what if they have a trade in as you did when you bought the used RR?

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

We have a 2012 VW Touareg TDI that will be bought back by VW and need something bigger. The GL 350d seems like a comparable vehicle, although way more gadgets than the VW. Not sure if this is a good idea so if there are any opinions out there let me know.

The appearance package comes with 20" which is what the 3 other wheels look like. The AMG rim if OEM is 21".
From the same dealer, this is a much better deal IMO. Gas is cheap.

Yeah, the 550 looks great, but I'm concerned about range more than anything. I like the 650 mile range of our Touareg. We tow a 3,500 lb travel trailer also. Frequent trips to Tahoe in the snow so it will get snow tires on another set of rims.
Any red flags other than the wheel? Price? Kbb puts the price at $50,500 with those packages so I would be looking for that, but should I expect that or lower?
The trailer hitch does not look like it is the OEM towing package. Even description says a hitch capable of 7500lbs and not specifically referring to the towing package.
Not real leather but maybe ok for you.
Not sure long term repercussion of driving with 20" and 21" rims.
I don't want to overpay so we didn't end up getting it. They were saying that the KBB price is not accurate on low volume vehicles. I said fine, let's look at a GL450 and apply that logic, but they wouldn't agree to that either. I hate buying used cars. Seems like some people have the knack for it, but never works for me so we end up just buying new.

The link you shared didn't have the vents.
Also look at photos of the towing package from MB. It looks different again from the ones from your original link.

As compared to GL450's - BlueTech owners "tend" to have purchased for a particular reason over a GL450 - the own/purchase more - they lease less - and tend to ownr longer - or own for for longer mileage (family road warriors) than the more "common" GL450.
Yes - there have been deluxe GL350 builds - rarer - but there have been some.
I would say overall in the market - GL350's on features "trend":
1. Parking Assist - reasonable to find
2. Trailer Hitch - reasonable to find especially outside metro
3. Panorama Roof - scarcer
4. 3rd Zone Climate Control - more scarcer
4. Driver's Assistance - rare
Try a fresh thread
I am trying to be helpful - I am NOT trying to sell you a GL450 over a GL350 - but you would have more "choices" if you were shopping for a GL450.... I had a reason to ask my guy this afternoon to run our market sniper spotter tool on 2013 GL350's with Premium 1 - in national market the sniper report was like 5-6 any/all dealer listed on the web today..
Keep the beat !
