2014 GL450 LED Headlight Kits???
I am trying to upgrade the stock Halogen lights to LED but so far unsuccessful. I ordered the kit from OPT7 but didn't fit and returned. Tried to order again from XENONHIDS after verify with the tech, still doesn't fit and have to return. Just wondering if there is a LED kit out there to work?

Just acquired a GL 450 and didn't realize the car didn't have Xenons until it was too late...Has anybody tried the GTR Lighting Ultra 2.0 LED? https://www.theretrofitsource.com/H7...2.0?quantity=1 They are $200 and supposed to be plug and play. Or does everyone still recommend Aznoptics Xenon Conversion kit?

[QUOTE=BlownV8;8131267]This, even the sponsor on this forum who sells both will tell you to get the HID system over the LED.[/QUOTE
thank you for the info! How bad is the install? I’ve done it in an Audi Before.

I have put in a pair of LED H7 set I bought from Amazon for about $40 or so and am pretty happy about them. They focus the same way as the stock halogen bulb so don't have any problem of glaring other drivers. The only issue is that the light color is more towards white while the original halogen is yellow-ish (5500-6000K vs ~3000K), so the white light is less penetrative when the weather is not very good. The LED set is even cheaper than some high-end halogen. Installation is almost no different than halogen just you need to buy another set of adapter (less than $10). I put the ballast into the headlight housing with no issue.

what brand are they? Do you have any pictures? On a separate note. Has anyone had issues with condensation in the headlight. One of mine is very bad. I’m going to try and get the dealer to fix it. In the event they refuse, is it fixable or am I better off buying a new headlight off eBay?
Both are claimed to be 10000Lm however I'm pretty sure they are not up to what they claim, but definitely more bright than the stock halogen ones. I also have another set of 12000Lm pair but it's obsolete now. I don't have any photo on my hand though but they are pretty common 6000K lights that color match with the DRL pretty well. I only replaced the low beam but wanted to also get the high beam replaced to match the color but am just too lazy to do it these days. I'm essentially not using the high beam at all.
If you have water on the inside of the headlight, that indicates a leakage somewhere. It might simply be the seal of the two headlight bulb access covers. If those two are good then take the assembly off and give it a careful inspection and seal the leak, plus use a hair dryer to completely dry the inside see if it works.
Condensation on the outside can be reduced by polish+wax. Wax can be replaced with any hydrophobic coating like rainx, basically to make the lens hydrophobic.Make sure your wax is compatible with headlight lens (essentially polycarbonate).
I replaced the pair on my ML with a used pair from Ebay. I bought them separately though. There are ton of them on Ebay that are missing a tab or something but you can still find a few with everything intact. You can also consider an upgrade if you have access to Star/Xentry to program it. The reason I replaced that pair was due to the excessive fading of the lens which was not fixable to me. (need to remove the lens and polish the inside as well so I don't want to mess up with that)

2014 GL450
I have 2014 GL450 and I have try many HID and LED wtih the adapter retainer.
I don't recommend HID because they can get really hot and I don't like to have a bulky ballast zip tie in the engine bay. I like to have a OEM look install.
I try to place the ballast inside the headlamp housing before because there is a lot room inside but I burn up all of them because there is no ventilation.
If I put ballast outside then I will need to drill hole on the cover cap which I really don't like so I give up on HID.
As for LED, I have try many different types of H7 LED bulb and they all need that special retainer clip. I have try super glue and JB weld the clip before but they all fail and they always fell out of the socket.
I believe I finally found the perfect bulb after 3 set of HID kits and at least 5 different types of H7 LED.

I have no affiliation with Lasfit but this is the perfect LED kit, the bulk has the retainer clip build in and its a simple direct replacement and I have this bulb install on my car for almost a year so hot summer night or cold winter morning the bulbs perform perfectly.
Also Mercedes has a very sensitive CANBUS system to give bulb out error if voltage not correct but this LED kit has no error message so far.
The color temp is around 6000K so looks OEM not some crazy blue light.

Thread drift: now that there are LEDs headlamps that are direct replacements has anybody found LED taillight bulbs that don't throw errors AND don't require a resistor in the circuit?

yes curious as well. I figured out how to change the temperature of the interior lights. What about the bulbs. Will the switch to LED’s throw fault code? I bought some in amazon that arrive today. Another random question. Anyone change out worn out buttons on their dash?

likely newer bulbs with higher brightness since then ... but these are mine for 3 years (no errors, no problems, knock on tires):
