GL63 Ordering Information
Excusing the FL "double-up" that 75 GL63's out of 360 dealers or so.
If I wanted a GL63 I would plan my strategy for MY14 October delivery - on which dealer to hang my hat too.
If I needed a truck sooner I would load up a GL550 for Amy delivery - and then tune-it/mod-it.
That's the best I can call it right now.

I do have an allocation for June 2nd decade build with my AMG PC out of state. I wish my regular dealer had an allocation as I would like to buy from them - My SA at that dealer is awesome.
The decision is to get it from an out of state AMG PC or wait for my regular dealer to get allocated.
Suggestions???
Its MSRP at out of state dealer and maybe a discount at the regular dealer - don't know about the discount for sure.
SouthOcean1 / Tomshop - DO you have allocations?

On dealer profile: there are three dealers who have (3) each: Coral Gables, Dallas, Newport Beach/Fletcher, and five dealers that have (2) each: Bayside NY, Manhattan, Paramus NJ, Englewood NJ, and Van Nuys CA.
That means this hasn't been "clustered" - trying to be far I would expect.
Keep the beat !

Congrats! (I think . . .). I emailed my dealer tonight but have not heard yet. No news in this case is generally bad news. I will keep you posted.
I appreciate your predicament. A June build means July delivery with the 2014s coming in August/September. The 2013 ML63s were released at the end of July 2012, so if that holds true for the GL63s, that is a short walk to 1 years worth of depreciation - although no car represents a "prudent" invesmtent. I guess the 2014s could also see a price increase so that would mitigate the impact somewhat.
I am a little more optimistic about build numbers for 2014 than Fabbrisd1, as I think there will be 400 to 500 allocated to the US for 2014 which should satisfy most of the demand. I still think that far more folks will choose the GL550 than a GL63 since it looks almost the same whereas the ML550 just does not work nearly as well as the ML63 (plus the whole who needs a full size SUV AMG question) so a lower build total should suffice. I could be wrong, and Fabbrisd1 knows his stuff, but that just seems logical to me. I also think we worked through some pent up foreign demand as the GL63s have been sold outside of North America since November which should be reflected in higher US totals next MY. With MB's stock price under some pressure, they will sell as many high profit GL63s as they can.
Fabbrsid1, what is your advice for someone with a very late MY2013 build in this case?

Its a different situation if June 2nd decade gets rolled over to MY14 as I would prefer that. The other problem is that 2014 model is not a guarantee either and I don't know if we will wait for an eternity to get an allocation for the 2014 GL63. If I do put a deposit down to buy some time and then decide against it later - I will probably lose my deposit.
Keep the beat !
FAB - Can you please address this question
Thanks
There are no "tricks" to the system.
If you have a confirmed factory order for MY13 scheduled for June production - it gets made - you "choose" not to take it - yes, you go back to square one - and its up to your dealer what happens with your deposit on your original order - a amicable no brainer if you are buying something else available.
Dealer can sell the GL63 to anyone they "choose" to
Not produced, dealer has option to rebook MY13 order for a MY14 new order that will be confirmed by the factory for most likely available Oct production.
The rollover MY13 orders will NOT be allowed to "cascade" delayed delivery for pre-booked 2014 orders for Aug/Sept production (my best guess).

Adam - did you get an allocation?
Sam, I got nuthin'.
I have a deposit down on a GL63 with an AMG-PC in the Chicago area, but they're (rightly) making no promises. Congrats on getting a PO for June production. If I am so fortunate, then I will probably end up keeping it and taking delivery of the car a few months before MY 2014 and feeling like a bit of a sucker for taking the model year-end depreciation hit. But hey, the depreciation hit is huge on one of these cars anyway and a 557 hp $120k SUV to haul the kids around is already totally irrational, so what the heck, right?

If you have a deposit elsewhere like Edens - then MY14 should work out for you...
Thanks for providing the Illinois list. My dealer is not on it so that makes the decision easy for me - MY2014. I would have gone that way anyways and taken my chances on better allocations in the fall. But then I don't need the GL63 soon to replace a lease or anything like that.
1Adam12, you mentioned you went with an AMG Performance Center in Illinois. There are only two and was curious if your's is on the list? And where are you in the line. I hope your dealer is on the list as I know you want it as soon as possible. I would guess that with 100 built for the US, at least a handful will appear for sale this summer at the dealers so you could always go that route if you can find your Steel Grey.
Sam, if I were you I would roll the dice on your local dealer as I think you said you are on the top of that dealer's list. I bet (hope) your and my dealer will each receive at least one late summer/early fall allocation.
Kind regards
