Tom - If these GL63s get released to the carrier - you should talk to your dealer and get some straight answer. I think they are stringing you along for a long time now. If VPC keeps them until July then your dealer is right.
SO - I am going to stick with Iridium Silver for now. I don't have an update on the GL63. I emailed my SA twice and left a message once but did not hear back. I think the reason may be is that they are still working on it. Maybe they are not happy with me for passing up 2 GL550s (one with standard interior and other with designo) and now changing the MY13 GL63 allocation for MY14. Hopefully I will know soon.

Is this the standard steering wheel that comes in the GL63?
If so what is option 281 - AMG performance steering wheel and how is it different?

confirmed a PO for a 2013
just returned from a trip, been meaning to post an update. I finally managed to confirm a PO# for a 2013 GL63. The allocation was originally in the first decade of May. Actual delivery...who knows. Hopefully closer to Memorial Day than July 4th.
Build:
My SA swears he's going to be able to get me Tenorite Grey (and without causing further delay). Seems dubious, so I'm expecting that will end up being Steel Grey. Designo auburn brown interior. Optimistic that this combo will look sharp. Included just about every option, except no night view, no B&O, and no rear seat entertainment.
I'm still feeling a little foolish over all the effort to get a 2013 only to take the extra depreciation hit late in the model year, but I'm still excited to be in the first group to own this vehicle and in an uncommon color.

fabbrisd1 (or anyone else out there) Curious if you can tell how many 63's went and are going to Canada for 2013? Given low numbers in the States, I'm curiuos how this relates up North. Dealers here (at least mine) are not connected with netstar and have no way of knowing whats going on outside there areas.
Frustrating.... my car is less than 20 miles away and I likely won't see it for a week as it clears the rail yard, customs, etc.

Thanks for the update. An early May build should mean late May delivery - which will put you a good three months ahead of the MY2104s. That makes a 2013 much more reasonable. And, you definitely will have one of the first 30 or so in the country, which is really cool.
What wood trim did you go with for he Auburn Brown? BTW, I think Tenorite Grey and Steel Grey are the same colors (US vs Europe naming conventions).

Anyway I helped them get an allocation for the GL63 so I hope they are able to change to MY14. The update is that the SA spoke to the local rep and the rep will see if they can get the allocation changed from the factory end otherwise the dealership will attempt a trade with another dealer that has an allocation for MY14.

9 MY13's as of Tues were "stacking up" at the VPC - none released to carrier yet - I think they are planning to stack-then-ship-out-same-day this week. We will see what we will see. I feel so far it looks like 2 per working day

As of tmrw morning Vance will have completed and released to VPC the exact # of GL63's scheduled for April - 18.
I "assume" they will be released to carrier Fri/Saturday - unless the number is better shown shipping April 17.
The 18 for March should make the next 14 scheduled for the US in early-May a piece of cake

Was at NY Auto Show. Rep from MBUSA showed me a sheet showing GL63's being released this month. Also, showed that the 4WD S Class has been pushed back until November. FYI if you register there you get a $500 gift certificate good for any Mercedes.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. Just go up to the counter for the $500 certificate. The trucks are on the lower level (not the main Mercedes stand). The certificate is very easy to get.
