I'm just absolutely sick of these bullsh*t roads. I do love my 2015 GL63. The correct answer is to move to a different model.

Tire Rack has (or had) 19x9 et30 OZ Cortina that clears front (with room) of W166 ML63 (not sure if that wheel in 19" has enough of load capacity to "handle" GL63's weight).
However, I think 20" with 285/50-20 (or even 275/50-20) tires do provide enormous sidewall to handle even the worst of the roads. Check the TireRack site.

I'll check it out. However I have 20s already and potholes here just destroy my rims all the time. It's not me. It's my wife who just doesn't give a sh*t and drives through everything.
I contacted the Finspeed and they are going to work with me too build a very strong 20 inch rim. They were actually really cool. The guy I was in contact with offered to pull up the CAD details and work on a 19 inch that would clear the front calipers. Ultimately, I opted for the custom, stronger 20-in because there are far more Tire options in 20-in at the XL load rating and that width.
